Dear Mr. Lovell,

Presently, it is very evident that you are busy preparing yourself and your team for the upcoming general elections….

Your eloquence, your forthrightness & your ambition to become Antigua’s next Prime minister is certainly admired. However, your aspirations seems to be a very big challenge.

As a leader of an army who is now looking forward to go into a political war, it would be expected of you to have the best & most efficient & competent soldiers onboard your political ship with you.

Incidently, as I listened to the role call, that you made for the upcoming election, I am bewildered that the following persons who were considered to be stalwartsΒ  and who were once very active members of the UPP crew, are not seen or heard and hence, I am beginning to wonder if all have jumped shipΒ  indicating their absence………

Ofcourse, I would be even more surprised if I am told that more persons need to be added to the list .

These persons in my view were soldiers who had the UPP team at heart and they all possessed a wealth of experience, knowledge & qualifications in the various disciplines they were trained in.

Unlike your opponent, ABLP, who has been very pragmatic & displayed strong mantle and political stablity, the team that you are nowΒ  leading into this election war appears to be weak without those soldiers mentioned above. seems to be very fragile, very unstable, very inconsistent and so displays no intimidation towards their opponents ……

Many onlookers are of the view that your UPP ship will certainly get shipwrecked during the course of this election battle. Many also feel that, for the survival of your political organization,Β  some restructuring may need to be done within your hierarchy.

Of course I am still on the political fence, twiddling my fingers and watching the political activities heating up. Mr. Lovell, If your strategy does not change to convince me otherwise, then my vote will definitely be going to your opponents.

    Instead you should be advising your party the ABLP to call the election and stop ‘chickening’ out because of the various bad pools that Peter Wickham and others have given them and causing a fracas in the party to the point where they are contemplating bringing Asot back on the slate.

    Your letter is just another distraction. Give your advice to the downward trajectory labour party. Your vote we can do without.

  4. FITZROY it is now becoming clear from your frequent letters to ANR that you are on some kind of mission to discredit Harold Lovell in particular and the UPP generally. It will not work because people will see through this attempt and will perhaps see you as one of the paid operatives of the ALP. Just a simple clarification for you, have the following persons left the UPP, namely, Hilson Baptiste, Wilmoth Daniel, Dr. Philmore Benjamin, Mervin Richards, Chanlah Coddington, Dr. Edward Mansoor or Clephane Roberts. And by the way, people join and leave political parties all the time all over the world. This phenomenon is nothing new and invariably the party is better off with the departure.

      Tabor , I am at a loss how the hell UPP with one seat in Parliament and with such an AWFUL slate of CANDIDATES, Tabor believe that They can come from so far behind and win election. I understand that you are trying your very best to save UPP face but that is a lost cause.

      Two members in my Family voted UPP last election. 2023 all Family member of 10 will vote ABLP.

      Lewis and Lovell have been at loggerheads after Lewis accused Lovell of re-entering the leadership race after he named him as successor apparent.

      The run-up to the party’s internal election has been controversial and threatened to further destabilise the party which was already hit with a nasty leadership contest when Joanne Massiah sought the party leadership.

  7. Does UPP conduct a poll ? I have been reading this polling by ERIC ( THE RED ). UPP looks doomed. If this polling is correct. There is no reason for me to waste my vote on UPP. I am waiting to see a poll from UPP.

  10. Ideally, I would like to see Jamale Pringle lead the UPP into the next election and guarantee the win; however, with Gassy’s inability to unite the citizens (because of his broken promises), and make Antigua a more fiscally sound country.

    I still believe that UPP will prevail, but it MAY be closer than everyone thinks.

    But remember UPP, when you do win the next election, look out for those that helped you during the difficult times.

    One of the reasons the debate of abuse and violence is ongoing is because men in particular don’t know that when a person says NO that is what it means NO.

    The notion that persons have decided to leave an organization for what ever the reason and here you are Fitzroy at it again trying to spread misinformation that unless they say yes, you are now some sought of fence sitter, SERIOUSLY Fitzroy, you a fence sitter. Since when does a person that have nothing good to say about you becomes a fence sitter? Stop the Masking Fitzroy, you are no fence sitter.

    We make claims of fence sitting when we want our statements to carry weight or appeal to certain demographics. You and I both know you riding the Gaston train all the way to the destruction of this country. What is so instructive Fitzroy is that you don’t seem to think the ALP is doing nothing wrong. You don’t want them to be held accountable for their stewardship. Why do you feel the need to suggest that The UPP candidates need your input but the ones on the ALP side is great.

    I have never heard that, a person is working for a business and they are performing poorly but the business owner says, I am not going to terminate your service because the next person I hire might do worse. Give me a break Fitzroy.

  19. I have always been a strong supporter of ablp through thick and thin. But they cross the line when they 1 literraly force me to take a vaccine that i didnt want. YES FORCE cause it came down to take it or go home and STRAVE. 2 The water situation is getting worse by the days and its tooooo much to bare right now. So come election day i will vote UPP.
