Prime Minister Gaston Browne has responded to United Progressive Party leader Harold Lovell.

The UPP leader told a political meeting this week that Browne is planning a snap election.

Lovell based his suggestion on what he saw as an increase in road projects on the island.

In response, Browne told Pointe FM moments ago that “he (Lovell) doesn’t have to guess. I will call an election at the first opportunity.”

Browne said Lovell is a failed and incompetent politician and is not a better option than the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party administration.

  1. fully agree ABLP government is best for leading the country forward there is no plan or ideas form the UPP to either continue the progress are better the development of country if it was up to them liat would have be vanish the hospital would not be complete etc

    • @Michael Dag: The Mount St.Johns Hospital was complete by the UPP Administration. Where is LIAT? How is it doing? How much is it costing us the taxpayers of Antigua and Barbuda monthly. To keep LIAT flying with one or two passengers per flight? Do not come on here and talk bull-chit.

  2. That is hot air from the PM. He not calling no election anytime soon. Covid jabs have made him unpopular, the economy has tanked, people are unemployed. He not calling no election early.

  3. First opportunity is 2023.Cannot wait to see your moustache getting kicked down the road lakka one football.

  4. If the UPP has any chance at even one or two seats they’ll have to change their leadership.

  5. UPP….WILL NEVER SEE POWER AS LONG AS LOVELL IS ATBHE HELM …..NEVER …EVEN A MANGY DAWG BETTER IN POWER THAN LOVEL.

ALL THE WAYYYYYYY WITH LABOR WHO BEX DEAD…
LET THE TEENAGE PAGENTRY PARTY SIT AND LEARN …

AS HAROLD AT THEVHELM POWER YOUNALL WILL NEVER SEE

    • Most people seem to agree that UPP, although they have some good people whom I respect highly, they will not be able to take power under their present leadership. How many times does a person have to be defeated before the party says enough is enough. I have nothing against Mr. Lovell personally, but the reality is that he is simply not the man. Fresh, younger leadership may well revitalize that party. IF they don’t change leadership, and an election is called soon, the results will finally mark the end of Mr. Lovell’s political leadership.

  6. Call the election now. This ALP buffoon has embarrassed the country enough. Antigua for Antiguans.

  7. If the country tanks Gaston may just want to call an election and lose so he can blame UPP. Right now, things don’t look good for the country so Gaston may want to take cover.

  8. That’s true dictator style.

World dictator traitor tyrant Gaston Browne time will soon end and he will have to pay the price.

Where are the persons who ordered the hit on Nigel Christian? Did he discover who “forged” the signatures?
