Reports say the visitor reported to the Grays Farm Police Station that an
unknown person had caused damage to the two rear windows of a Kia Rio
that he rented from Down West Car Rental.

Further reports say the man and a female companion, also from Trinidad,
arrived in Antigua on May 30 and are scheduled to leave on Tuesday, June 4.

On May 30, between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m., they visited Dieppe Bay, where they
parked and secured the rental vehicle and went over to the beach.

However, upon their return to the vehicle they discovered that the windows of
both rear doors had been broken out.

A multi-colored bag containing an Olympus digital camera, valued at US$500;
a pair of reading glasses valued at TT$4,000; an HP laptop in a laptop bag,
valued at US$3,000; and a purse containing two passports and a number of
bank cards and a driver’s license, had been stolen.

Apparently the perpetrator had used a hard object to break the glass and
access the items left inside the vehicle.

The Police conducted a search via a footpath in some nearby bushes, and the
multi-colored bag containing the digital camera, reading glasses, and the
purse with the bank cards, passports, and license was found.

Those items were processed for fingerprints and later handed over to the
victim.

The vehicle reportedly was taken to the Grays Farm Police Station and
processed, as well.

  1. What is the purpose if tou do not have a database of fingerprints? You are just blacking up people’s property with that dust.Come on.

  2. HELL NO YOU DON’T!!!! These cops are playing detective!!!😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭😭

  3. Need to get on my soap box for a minute…
People!!!…There are simple to sophisticated ‘Find My Device’ apps out there that can be downloaded to your phones/laptops…and they work even the device is turned off!
This couple was lucky that all they lost was the laptop…and I will make no further comment on that!
People…no place on this island is safe if there are desperate people looking for easy money.
Protect your property…and rental car companies need to warn their customers as well. Lots of car break-ins are not being reported!…from beaches to supermarkets and restaurants! Don’t think because you see people around that you can leve stuff in your car and run into First Choice…or go for a walk on the beach! They will steal your empty shopping bags if they desperate enough.
Look…We leave our SUV’s unlocked…with NOTHING in the console, glove box or back. Last month my little grandson forgot to take his empty Roblox lunch bag with water bottle when I took him home…I saw it when I parked at the grocery, and tossed it from the back seat to the floor….did not lock my doors. When I returned in less than an hour, my right rear window was cracked…the special glass did not shatter but stayed in place! I guess then the jackass thief tried the unlocked door because the lunch bag was gone!. So three weeks later I’m waiting for a rear windows replacement because an idiot wanted to steal a cartoon lunch bag! Desperate f*ck!
Ok…I’m done with my soap box rant!
