Union tells hotel workers to bring in letters stating that they are no longer employed

Antigua and Barbuda Workers Union says:

As we continue to provide guidance and assistance to our membership, the Antigua & Barbuda Workers’ Union is requesting that all Unionized Hotel Workers who would have received letters from their employer stating if they were not vaccinated by October 15th 2021, that they are no longer employed, and any other correspondence relating to termination due to your unvaccinated status, to bring these letters to our Secretariat located at Freedom Hall, lower Newgate Street, on or before October 26th 2021.

    • This is very unfair.

      It was NOT the unions who passed the regulations that led to the firing of hotel employees.

      It was Tico Lake and the Gaston Browne cabinet that passed the regulations which led to people loosing their jobs.

      Put the blame where it should go.

      Let us get rid of this present Labour Party Government.

  2. I WANT FOR WORKERS IN THE HOTEL INDUSTRY WHO WERE AND ARE BEING FIRED, TO UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING CLEARLY:

    • IT WAS GASTON BROWNE WHO MANDATED that you take something into your body
    that you may not want to take.

    • IT WAS GASTON BROWNE WHO SAID THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE THE OPTION to be
    tested if you choose not to get vaccinated.

    • IT WAS GASTON BROWNE WHO STARTED THE PROCESS FOR YOU TO LOOSE YOUR
    JOB.

    Remember that, when Gaston Browne and his fellow politicians come to you shortly for your votes.

    I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR THIS PRESENT LABOUR PARTY.

    LET US GET THE RID OF THEM.

    Correct: “who received letters”

    For the love of God, Antiguans, please stop misusing and abusing the term “would have.”

  4. Grammar, shut up. This is too serious for you to be nit picking. We are loosing our freedom unnecessarily. Think about what next. Grammar not going to save us. Gaston is giving away our country and controlling us slowly. Would have time to vote him out.

  5. @Grammar:Do you think the use of proper grammar in a sentence would get them their work back. Note I did say work,for working is not a job.
