Dr. Philmore Benjamin has won St. Mary’s North for the ABLP

I am of the view that the electorate did not see UPP as an alternative government. Hence the shift towards APLP is as a result. So the question I may ask what does the future look like for UPP Party. My answer is a complete overhaul. Starting with the executive- political leader, chairman or woman and the general council. If not the likes like Shugy , Richard Lewis, Azille and Malaka Parker if not allowed to take over the organization- form themselves into an entirely new party. Don’t worry about no short term appointments to the senate.
Hay I am a fan of strong women and D.Gisele Isaac I adore you tremendously. However, please take a bow and allow the party to reform itself or dissolve. Harold your political career is over in terms of running. If you want to save the UPP party , stay on as an advisor.
The political leadership role must be the address head on. Pringle should not continue as political leader and hope he does not think he can use the idea that he alone won his seat as an indicator that he should continue as political leader. He ran in what has become an iron clad UPP stronghold and better note that it is challenging. He has no party following and has not grown as a politician, especially over the past term.
Despite all negatives , to include/ The Alfa Nero , the Vechicle gate scandal, the poor infrastructure
And water woes , the self enrichment, teachers strike and nurses dissatisfaction, the closing of health institutions- clinics and cancer center, the violent crimes and even jumping of ships by opportunistic politicians, the insults by rushing to fix roads last minute, and mostly importantly the lost of our Visa an The electorate did not have a choice. There was a term used to describe the UPP over the past three years. “ It Imploded after the 2023 general elections. We the people had no viable opposition, ready to take the reins of government. We had no alternative to take on the reins of leadership and several ministerial portfolios. The people had not choice but to return the ABLP party to office.
Warning to ABLP- I am in agreement with your political leader and Prime Minister- no time to gloat. You have a victory that might allow you to think you are invincible. Note the negative issues I stated about. Please voted for you , sometimes against their own conscience not because you deserve it but because there was no alternative.
So use this opportunity and clean up you mess. Don’t say you are transparent, operate with transparency and integrity.
Gaston like Gisele I admire you courage and I know you have great abilities. Funny you are the two Antiguan politicians I like. However, I prefer the woman, for her integrity, intellect and strength. Antigua is far lesser without her being given the opportunity to serve our nation.
