Browne Secures Historic Fourth Term as ABLP Wins General Election
The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP), led by Prime Minister Gaston Browne, has secured an unprecedented fourth consecutive term in office following Thursday’s general election.
The victory extends Browne’s leadership beyond a decade in power, marking a historic moment in the country’s political landscape and reaffirming the ABLP’s hold on government.
Preliminary results indicated that the ABLP won more than the 9 seats required to form the government defeating the opposition United Progressive Party (UPP), led by Jamale Pringle, as well as other independent candidates.
The outcome follows a day of generally smooth and orderly voting, with strong early turnout and an efficient process aided by an increase in polling stations. Observers reported that the election was conducted in a free and fair manner.
Counting continued through the night and into Friday morning, with results gradually confirming the ABLP’s advantage across key constituencies.
During the campaign, Browne argued for continuity, pointing to his administration’s economic performance, infrastructure projects, and development agenda, while urging voters to maintain what he described as stable and proven leadership.

The opposition UPP campaigned on calls for change after more than a decade of Labour Party rule, focusing on issues such as the cost of living, governance, and public services.
Despite those challenges, the electorate ultimately returned the ABLP to office, delivering Browne a fourth consecutive mandate — a first in Antigua and Barbuda’s modern political history.
The result sets the stage for the formation of a new government in the coming days, as attention now turns to Cabinet appointments and the administration’s priorities for its next term.

No one should be surprised at this, not even those foolish, kool-aid drinking UPP supporters on this website talking nonsense for the last few months. Amateur disinformation campaigns and impossible to implement promises did not fool the majority of Antiguans who have thoroughly rejected the UPPs inexperienced, whirlpool of chaos and the only thing left now is for Pringle to resign; that is inevitable.
congratulations!!!!! 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
Put another way the UPP has lost the election in GRAND STYLE because of very poor leadership and the post-convention decline of the Party engendered by its own discord, disunity and fragmentation.
I’m surprised by some of the UPP candidates that lost, but I’m not surprised that ABLP won, after all this was a Snap Election that was highly favorable to any ruling party.
So I know why this corrupt joker called a snap Election.
I’m curious to compare the turnout for this snap election to the last general election.
I bet the numbers are not even close.
I’ll wait for the numbers, but I know many were caught off-guard and disenfranchised in this Snap Election, and that’s what my complaints have always been.
Anyway, this will not stop my call for honesty and transparency in Antigua politics.
I’m not holding my breath, especially now that these corrupt bandits called a snap election so that they can stay in power to hide their continues criminality.
ABLP has won, but Antigua as a country has lost. This is the same thing that’s happening in Belize as we speak, politicians buying out the votes. But we all know the results of that corruption in Belize and other places..gang wars have infiltrated the poorer populations of the country, and the same thing will happen to Antigua, because this Administration that we have had for the past 12 years, have neglected to control gun and gang violence in Antigua.
This is not a win for the island, so no hip hip hurray for me.
I’m one voice, but this voice will continue to blaze.
There will be more elections, so, #tek_time and #walk_fass!
A quick glance, at the numbers, in particular the percentage of the registered voters who actually voted appears to be just about 50%, which means that almost half of the registered voters didn’t actually care to participate. This means ‘room for improvement’ for the UPP or any other organization desirous of managing the Public affairs.
A…UPP must call their convention and elect the officers who will be mounting their challenge to the ABLP, so that they can begin their work now. Now! Now! Now! Get up and keep your feet on the ground in the Community’s. Work on bringing large scale projects to the Communities and show those who didn’t actually vote this go around, that you mean business from today.
Start your campaigning, TODAY for the next general elections. Agriculture, Aquaculture, healthcare and the environment needs lots of attention and work. Jump on these now! Now! Now!
Champions don’t stay knocked down, they get up, regroup, learn from their errors, get up and keep pushing.
This is politics and things shift and change in a heartbeat, on one slip up by your opponent(s).

Congratulations to the ABLP and all their supporters.
I’m not going to come on here and make any excuses. All I am hoping and praying for is that if Gaston Browne BREAKS any of his numerous promises, is that you all will hold him to account.
The country now needs to unite, come together as one for the greater good for everyone.
Again, Congratulations from an Antiguan Patriot
… If I’m honest, UPP lost it at our last convention, when the opportunity was missed to select a new leader – the downward spiral commenced then…
Enjoy your victory @RED TILL ME DEAD 👏🏾
