Tropical Storm Emily has formed in Atlantic Ocean

The National Hurricane Center says that Tropical Storm Emily has formed in the Atlantic Ocean.

 

According to the most recent advisory published by the NHC, Tropical Storm Emily is about a thousand miles west-northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands with sustained wind speeds of 50 mph. Emily is traveling at about 10 mph with a west-northwest heading.

The National Hurricane Center expects Tropical Storm Emily to remain a tropical storm before weakening and becoming a post-tropical remnant low by Tuesday.

The storm is not expected to impact land by the most recent NHC forecast.
