The UK’s Chevening Scholarship awardees for 2020 from Antigua and Barbuda were officially announced today in a news release from the British High Commission in St John’s.

A’Shante O’Keiffe, Loretta Benjamin and Simone Dias from Antigua and Barbuda were each awarded a scholarship, joining six other awardees from the Eastern Caribbean.

Resident British Commissioner to Antigua and Barbuda, Lindsy Thompson, was particularly pleased to see the number of scholarships awarded to the island this year.

Ms Thompson said “it’s a testament to the wealth of talent there is in Antigua and Barbuda that one-third of our Chevening scholars hail from the twin island nation this year.  Our Chevening programme aims to identify and support future leaders, and I have no doubt that A’Shante, Loretta, and Simone will return after their studies and make a substantial contribution to Antigua and Barbuda in their chosen fields”.
