LETTER: UPP’s “ChatGPT Manifesto” Would Mean Higher Taxes, Lost Jobs, a Mountain of Debt & Economic Uncertainty

The UPP manifesto launch was not only underwhelming, when you look under the hood it is downright scary!

It includes fairy tale ideas like their entertainment and sports complex that would cost billions to build and maintain. And, it includes promised increases in pay that are irresponsible which would also cost billions.

Someone has to pay for the UPP promises and there are a few ways they can pay. First, with tax increases. They could raise ABST, reintroduce the personal income tax, raise fees on vehicles, and imports to pay for their promises.

Or, they could pay for their promises with cuts. They could fire public servants. They could cut pensions. They could cut unemployment benefits. They could cut road construction. They could cut affordable housing construction. That is another option for the UPP.

Finally, they could pay for their promises with debt. And, debt means that for every tax dollar we pay, we have less and less money over time to fund public services and invest in our country.

The UPP’s “ChatGPT Manifesto” is not only a joke, but, it’s dangerous and shows that the UPP is not a serious political party or a serious choice for government

  1. ABLP ATTACKS UPP’S MANIFESTO #2

At least these ABLP nutcrackers allowed me finish my food to read this second attack on UPP’S recent manifesto release. Mind you, wouldn’t it be nice if the ABLP tackled Antigua’s rising crimes with as much vigour.

    Sorry I digressed.

Here we have an another ABLP hit piece after Chet ‘Grissal Back’ Greene’s one. On this occasion we read negative words like “fairy tales”, “scary”, “underwhelming”, and “dangerous”.

How does the writer of this utter tripe know that the UPP’S covenant to the citizens of Antigua & Barbuda 🇦🇬 will not work? Especially as they haven’t been in governance for over 12 years now!

This was probably written by Grissal Back so-called friend Gaston Browne 🤣🤣🤣

  2. I told you do, that Gaston just wanted to engage in a parasitic debate on upp manifesto and then later down they will point out in comparison to upp manifesto saying Alp manifesto have the same incentives
Parasitical reaction by Gaston all the time, the duty free on vehicles proposed by UPP Gaston as a parasite say he codifying duty free on vehicles but was crying that upp was destroying economy to offer common people duty free without having to go to a minister.

  3. If the Lawless ALP is returned to office, there’s no doubt that we are going to be inundated with taxes. They claim to have so much in surplus, yet workers and protesting for money owed to them for years. That wicked 40% that was imposed on vehicle licensing is hurting every body; especially those who were promised an increase of the minimum wage. I hope residents take keen notice that there is no campaigning on water anymore. They really can’t fix the problem after spending hundreds of millions on scores of Reverse Osmosis Plants all around the Island. The situation is still as desperate as much as last year. They have denied thousands of Antiguans and Barbudans from going to the United States. Can they be expected to correct that? Ofcourse not and it has very little to do with the Chinese alliance and everything about the nefarious criminals who possess our passports and found their way on U.S soil and other dealings with criminals like Alex Saab Moran and Odebretch. We are not getting out of these anytime soon, so printing and publishing the usual colored book of stories isn’t going to help us. Before voting, find out what our National Debt truthfully is.
