Apparently, it was a Carnival Gardens resident who reported that a solar battery had been found on the western side of her brother’s house, next to the centre.
The woman reportedly recalls observing that the lights were off on the compound during the course of that night.
Reportedly, the perpetrator had used force to pry open the casing that held the batteries and had thrown one of them over the fence and into the woman’s yard.

It is foolhardy to build such spanking buildings without the necessary and proper security mechanism in place. Perimeter lights by themselves would not cut it. The removal of the solar batteries is the first step for the would be thieves who most likely have much greater motive in mind. Security cameras must form a normal part of protecting all government properties today. In the current climate, without them is just giving the thieves a free hand to do as they please. Government must make the investment now or the loses in the long run might be significant.
