United Progressive Party (UPP) leader Jamale Pringle has accused the ruling Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) of copying elements of the opposition’s manifesto, telling supporters that his party remains the driving force behind policy ideas in the election campaign.
Speaking at a rally in St. Philip’s South on Monday night, Pringle said the ABLP was forced to adjust its platform after the UPP unveiled its own proposals.
“They had to go back… and they mimicked everything the UPP did,” Pringle said, referring to the release of the party’s campaign website and manifesto.

He argued that a comparison of the two documents would demonstrate that the UPP is leading on policy direction.
“If you put the two manifestos side by side, it shows that the UPP is a visionary organisation… we lead, we don’t follow,” he said.
Pringle said the UPP’s proposals were developed through consultations with a wide cross-section of society, including workers, pensioners, business people and community leaders, and were designed to address key concerns such as the cost of living, water supply, roads, crime and healthcare.
The opposition leader’s remarks form part of a broader campaign push as political parties make their final appeals to voters ahead of the general election.

Didn’t ABLP put out theirs first?? I’m confused…
Yep upp is right that Gaston and ALP is in full parasitical reaction mode, upp say they making duty free accessable away from the politicians and there goes Gaston screaming off the top of his head as tough he gong crazy that it can’t work and you know that is when the fox (con man) can’t get the grape (election) he say it sour, and low and behold round saunders gave Gaston a big word semantically to say he too will give duty free stated as codify, I laughed because Gaston must a believe people still can’t read.
Y’all UPP people tell so much lies. Y’all are believing them. Really pathological. Didn’t ABLP bring out theirs first.
oh please!!!!
No one. I mean no one. Absolutely no one wants to copy you Pringle 😒
To late now, this is it. You said he was afraid to call election, cause he know he will loose, and you went as far as dared him, well tomorrow is the day, you have Lovell back and also the return of Ms Parker, so let’s see what the voters think. We already have a few start bitching about calling election early, which is a bunch of crap, coming from these people living in the US. This is Wadadli not America, any ruling party have the right to call early election, so please don’t come with this after the decision is made. We could see record setting, by certain candidates on both sides, not forgetting labor day immediately after, where we will witness every jam ban on the road heading to Fort.
This is desperation. Not one idea in any of the manifestos are original. We live on a small island. His statement is deceptive rhetoric just like people saying UPP used Ai to put their manifesto together as if AI isn’rt a tool being used across the world. The problem we face is lack of political education among the masses. That is why politicians feel so emboldened to lie and play games.
