Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown is delighted to publicly declare the funds raised by Joseph Nunes and Travis Weste, who chose Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown as their cause for the 2020 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.

The duo undertook a phenomenal feat and rowed 3000 nautical miles across the Atlantic from La Gomera, Spain to Antigua in 47 days, 6 hours, and 57 minutes.

The Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown will utilize a part of the funds raised to purchase equipment to support the efforts of Antigua and Barbuda Search and Rescue (ABSR), which is a voluntary organization dedicated to saving lives in Antigua and Barbuda and the surrounding waters.

Funds raised would also be utilized to support other Rotary Sundown local community projects.

After undertaking the sale of T-shirts, Rash Guards, along with donations from kind sponsors, our Team Antigua Pairs raised a sum of USD $10,305 dollars.

Special thanks to all who contributed and supported Travis and Joseph as they made history and at the same time demonstrated the heart of Rotary which is to live a life of “Service above Self”.

Donations can still be made to Team Antigua Pairs fund as outlined below.

  1. Well done lads! You delivered on the rowing AND to your charity, both equal pillars for TWAC participation.
