Colonel Trevor Pennyfeather, head of the prison, recently met with Ricknaldo Isaac’s family following the autopsy results.

The report revealed Isaac died from a blood clot linked to injuries sustained when a prison officer allegedly slammed him to the ground during a confrontation at His Majesty’s Prison.

“Mr. Isaac asked if the state would cover his son’s burial expenses. I can now confirm the state will cover the full costs within reasonable limits. We are awaiting Mr. Isaac’s decision on the burial options,” Pennyfeather said.

According to NewsCo’s Gemma Handy, the autopsy indicated Isaac died from a pulmonary embolism caused by quadriplegia, resulting from spinal cord compression due to a neck fracture. Isaac also had a history of epilepsy, which, while contributing, was not the primary cause of death.

Isaac, a Bendals resident serving a one-year sentence for malicious damage, became paralyzed after the incident and died days later in the hospital. The officer involved was transferred on May 1st and is no longer employed at HMP. The investigation is ongoing.

  1. the Prison Officer was parting a fight,
then got attacked, but is wrong for striking back? why y’all don’t stay the f*ck put of jail then…

  2. If it was us on the outside, we’d be charged with involuntary manslaughter, so o hope Justice will be served accordingly.

  3. Does the burial of the the decease an indicator by the prison authorities an indicator that they were responsible for the man’s death? If so, what next?

The same concept should apply at the SLBMC or any other medical institution when some form of malpractice takes place.

We are hearing of too many of these faulty cases at these institutions and they just swept under the table leaving the families and even the patients, if alive, to deal with their own gigantic medical expenses to regain recovery.
