St. John’s Magistrates Court Reopens with Upgraded Facilities for Justice Delivery

The St. John’s Magistrates Court has reopened, with a ceremony held on September 16, 2024. Acting Chief Magistrate Dexter Wason welcomed the event, while Attorney General Sir Steadroy Benjamin emphasized the court’s role in the justice system and the renovation’s impact on access to justice. The upgraded building now includes four courtrooms, improving the environment for justice delivery in Antigua and Barbuda.

  1. Great now we have a new court house, lets hope the legal system improves as well. I hope the CCJ will give them some assistance in getting things running much better than it is today.

  2. Antigua has a history of corruption in the Magistrate’s Court and the grooming of a corrupt Chief Magistrate has begun.

  3. I dear to say you are wrong! Corruption did exist in the form of the former chief magistrate. I believe the the present chief is outstanding and a person of character!!!!
