St. John’s Carjacking: Police on the Hunt for Masked Gunman

7

Following an incident on Friday morning, where a woman reported being robbed of her car in St John’s, police investigations are ongoing.

According to the victim’s account, she had been driving alone around 3:45 am when she stopped her car in the St John’s Street area.

She was then approached by a lone masked gunman who demanded the vehicle at gunpoint.

Fortunately, the victim was unharmed, but the robber managed to flee with the car.

Subsequently, the vehicle was discovered abandoned in the Golden Grove area several hours later.

It remains unclear whether anything was stolen from the car.

This carjacking occurred just two days after another vehicle was stolen in Potters New Extension, which was also later found abandoned.

Law enforcement officials are urging the public to remain vigilant and take steps to minimize the risk of becoming a victim of violent crime.

    • The woman and the rest of us should be able to drive freely at 3am or any time we so chose. She nor any of us have to answer your question. The question is why is it so hard for law abiding citizens not allowed to defend and protect ourselves. The police can’t be everywhere to defend us. As it stands, the laws are against us law abiding citizens from defending ourselves. Criminals like this will only learn the hard way.

  1. It doesn’t matter what she was doing out at that time. Leaving work, etc. The problem is, Antigua has become a very dangerous place. It is at the point where we’re afraid to leave our homes. We lock ourselves in at night thinking we’re safe and they find a way in.
