The United Progressive Party has shown complete contempt for the people of Antigua and Barbuda by failing to publish a manifesto of its own.
With the general election upon us, the UPP has offered no plans, no programmes, no costing, and no contract by which the people can judge it or hold it accountable.
Yet, having produced nothing of its own, the UPP now criticises the ABLP Manifesto without substance, without specifics, and without offering any alternative.
This is political noise, not serious leadership.
A manifesto is the basis on which a political party asks for public trust. The UPP is asking for support while offering nothing concrete in return.
By contrast, the ABLP has placed before the nation a detailed Manifesto, widely distributed and available in accessible formats. It sets out a verifiable record of stewardship and a clear plan for the future.
The choice is clear: leadership with a record and a programme, or criticism without a plan.
The UPP’s failure to publish a manifesto is not an oversight. It is a failure of seriousness, a failure of accountability, and an act of contempt for the people whose support it now seeks.

But ablp have one that is full of empty promises. Plus plenty people can’t read and understand manifesto, how much a dem y’all ever fulfill? Just a book of lies y’all produced
In the words of Michael Jackson, Gaston and ALP “BEAT IT” the 30th April is time to go.
If me laugh one more time. So the party who thinks this is the time for fetes, drinking and entertainment is telling the party who is out multiple times a week detailing their plans and programs that they have contempt for the people of Antigua and Barbuda?
I’ve never heard more foolishness in my life. I mean these are the people who called a snap election 3 years into a 5 year term. Wha can really go so?
These guys need to just shut up at this point. They are literally grasping at straws right now. I saw a post from them the other day talking about the picture of Harold Lovell that was on a UPP ad. Like what turns on the picture? How is that important given the things happening around the country and the world.
Well lets wait an see how dumb we are as voterz
Gisele: “We should publish a manifesto”
Pringle: “What’s a manifesto?”
They don’t even have a functional website and they expect Antiguan’s to take them seriously? Give me a break. This group of clueless UPP amateurs would create a man-made economic disaster for the island the likes of which have never been seen here before.
The desperation of the ALP never seems to reach its peak.
Just when one thought they couldn’t be more desparate they open their mouths and it shows up.
Manifesto?????
Manifesto??????
Get real.
The ALP has always produced a picture album calling it a manifesto.
For the avoidance of doubt a manifesto is a contract between the people and the party.
That contract can be verbal.
However political parties produce one so that the people can hold them to it.
Hold them to it?????
Really????
Can anyone in the ALP tell me what percentage of promises in their picture album since 2014 have been fulfilled?
At the risk of being generous i will say that less than fitlfteen percent (15%) of ALP’s promises to the people have been fulfilled.
In fact ninety percent (90%) of their promises continue to be recycled like a stuck record election after election.
They are so dillusional that they find creative ways to include their promises in their budgets.
They recycle those budget promises over and over and over.
Not one ever comes to reality.
The UPP know how to get it done with or without a manifesto.
Every social programe that is alive at this elections time was implemented by the UPP.
The laboor party has not looked at its book of pictures since the day after elections.
So when they think they are ahead of the game, they are not.
So Gaston, I continue to caution you.
Do not let your political portal make you appear too desperate.
I know that power feels nice.
However you have to learn to live without it.
The things you are trying to use to score cheap political points are simply making you appear power hungry.
Really now!
