Sir Richie Richardson extends heartfelt thanks to all sponsors and participants following the successful staging of the Sir Richie Richardson Charity Golf Day on April 11, 2026.
The event brought together golfers from the US, Canada, UK, St Kitts and Antigua, corporate partners, and community supporters for a day of friendly competition and camaraderie, all in aid of meaningful charitable causes. Thanks to the generous contributions and enthusiastic participation, the tournament successfully raised both funds and awareness for several important initiatives.
Proceeds from the event will benefit programs such as the Striving for Excellence Gold Academy and the Kiwanis Bright Minds Project, both dedicated to empowering youth and advancing educational development. Additional support was also directed toward Kimesha Anthony, Antigua and the Caribbean’s former number one women’s golfer, underscoring the event’s commitment to nurturing local talent.

Sir Richie Richardson expressed deep appreciation for the continued support:
“Your partnership and generosity continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many. We are truly grateful and look forward to your ongoing support as we work together to strengthen our community.”
The success of this year’s charity golf day highlights the impact of collaboration and shared purpose, with organizers already looking ahead to building on this momentum in future events.
Reflecting on a memorable moment, Sir Richie added:
“As President of the Striving for Excellence Golf Academy, I was overwhelmed with emotion when it was announced that the overall winning team included 15-year-old Clairmont Carringt and 16-year-old Lovanjo Weekes, both of whom are under the tutelage of Coach Bobby James.”

Dear People of Antigua and Barbuda,
I write to you as we approach a snap election, just two and a half years into a five-year term under the Antigua Barbuda Labour Party. Gaston Browne’s regime has governed for eight years, yet crucial promises remain unmet. Our roads are still broken; we still lack consistent water; the CIP program has only benefited a few insiders. We have a $2 million car scheme with no accountability; UPP billboards vandalized by Michael Freeland, his party, and those backing him in the ALP; a hospital struggling with outdated equipment; and a prime minister, with his family, dominating business, leaving everyday citizens behind. The billboard scandal shows they are running scared. Our passports are distrusted; our bond with the U.S. is damaged. This is not the leadership we need. Now, the people responsible for the billboard scandal are the ABLP and those backing Michael Freeland. Let us unite on the 30th and demand real change.
Consideration should be given to having next year event in Barbuda.
The reason for this proposal is that a lot of resources have been put into the Barbuda golf course, making it the best in the twin island state.
Overtaking the tired and outdated gold course at Ceda Valley.
