Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sir Gerald Watt QC, extended his congratulations to Jamale Pringle, the newly elected leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP).

During a session in Parliament today, Sir Gerald humorously remarked to Pringle, “I wish you well. You are now undefeated,” eliciting applause and laughter from MPs across the chamber.
In April, Pringle won the leadership position over Richard Lewis, leading the country’s main opposition party.
Adding a light-hearted note, Sir Gerald jokingly expressed hope that Pringle’s new role would lead to better behavior in Parliament, a comment that also drew laughter from Pringle himself.

It is indeed heartening to hear our Speaker of the House congratulate honourable Pringle on his victory. It^’s a beautiful thing that our Parliamentarians can unite to congratulate one of their own. We must remember that Honourable Pringle can also be our Prime Minister one day too.

Not necessarily. He must first command the majority support from his other colleagues as to whom they wish to be their next Prime Minister according to the constitution section 69.
