Saturday’s planned seizure of the Alfa Nero superyacht was postponed at the last minute this morning after discussions with lawyers.

It is now scheduled for Tuesday instead.

The 267ft vessel is believed to be owned by a sanctioned Russian and has been deemed abandoned and a threat to the harbour and the environment.

It has been in Falmouth Harbour for over a year. (NEWSCO)

Port Manager Darwin Telemaque says there have been several proposed offers for the Alfa Nero yacht, as the auction draws closer.

The Government is set to take possession of the vessel next week, following the expiration of the international notice period, without the owner coming forward.
