The police Criminal Investigations Department is investigating the theft of US$ 3000 from XPZ Supermarket.

Antigua Newsroom reported yesterday in its new segment IS IT TRUE, that the senior police officer (fire department) was questioned by his colleagues yesterday.

The officer’s argument is that he rescued the money.

However, when he arrived at the CID yesterday he allegedly presented half the sum.

The man who recently celebrated 40 years as a police officer, reportedly stole the money from a safe while other officers were attempting to extinguish a fire that gutted the supermarket.

Media reports also indicate that a sum of money was also found at the man’s home.
