While deers are popular on the sister isle Barbuda, the creature which is on the Coat of Arms, is not known to exist on the mainland, in any significant number.
A woman who also saw the pair of European Fallow Deer said they appeared to be drinking water near the road-side.
It is not known how the animals came to reside here.
