The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has introduced a Gun Amnesty initiative, effective April 7 to April 30, 2025, aimed at reducing gun violence and removing illegal firearms and ammunition from the nation’s streets.

This significant initiative is being implemented under the careful and professional supervision of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda. During the amnesty period, individuals are encouraged to voluntarily surrender illegal firearms and ammunition without fear of arrest or prosecution.

Additionally, the government is also offering rewards for credible information that leads to the successful recovery of illegal weapons. Residents can be assured that all police stations have been equipped and prepared to facilitate the safe and discreet handling of this process.

The Police Administration is appealing to the public to fully support this effort, which is intended to enhance public safety and preserve the peace and security of Antigua and Barbuda.

All information shared with the police during this amnesty will be treated with strict confidentiality. Let us work together to keep our communities safe and free from the threats of illegal firearms.

  1. Waste a time. The way Wadadli is right now one have to protect them self, since them can’t depend on this same police squad, who are asking for gun amnesty.
Real criminal narn go give up them piece.

  2. what happens after?. Amnesty mayb good for some countries but not for Antigua…. The people of this country is not honest and i highly doubt that anyone will take part in this Gun Amnesty

  3. I don’t think that will ever work because the community don’t trust the Authorizes… So how will they come forward?

  4. Are they offering incentives? Some people won’t give up anything unless there’s something in it for them.

  5. Most guns on the streets are linked to serious crimes so I don’t think anyone would believe the Police won’t pursue them after giving up their extremely hot weapon….

  6. Remember that I’m not going to give up my “hot gun” because the Boss said that he doesn’t want it.

  7. Nobody trusts the police. Why would we tell them anything anyway. The police are the ones who needs to surrender their guns not the public. What happened to that officer they said killed herself. Just give me a break.

  8. Criminals turn in the guns. Let’s make Antigua safe once again. Give y’all heart to God and he will take care of your enemies and bad wishers. not because you and someone got into a cursing you should shoot them after. and mostly not because the situation is tough for you to go rob a store or someone at gun point. let’s get better that this

  9. We already know these heartless criminals out there aren’t going to turn in any guns. This may just be a waste of time and another way for people to bash the government

  10. Them. Boys not giving nothing. Criminals see guns as assets. Big Gains to be had from them. While we working hard. These scoundrels are scheming how to make a next hit. Police have been doing a decent job find many with guns of late. That is working. Public not giving anything because then they will be asked a ton of questions and would be suspects if anything happens. Like if you bring that gun maybe you know who or where have more.

  11. I hope with a good heart that these citizens will feel the urge to help curb crimes in Antigua and turn in these guns. We need to clean the streets of all these things that are only bringing a bad remark to our country. All the crimes are very much unnecessary

  12. The bottom line is, they are not or let me put it this way..99.99 percent of the persons who presently possesses an illegal firearm or firearms are not going to turn them in..of course I could be wrong
