High on the agenda is the operationalization of the Loss and Damage Fund.

A preparatory meeting was held with a few members of the delegation including H.E. Dr. Walton Webson and Permanent Representative of the Mission of Antigua and Barbuda and Director of the Department of Environment, Ambassador Diann Black-Layne.

Both Prime Minister Browne and Minister Sir Molwyn are poised to engage in discussions surrounding climate resilience, innovative environmental policies, and collective actions aimed at accelerating progress towards achieving global climate targets.

  1. These summits are where all the decisions are made on how your civil liberties, autonomy and agency will be curtailed. The lessons are taught on how to transfer wealth from the middle class to the wealthy all while telling the plebs they are doing this to save the planet — While the rich and uber rich all flew there in their private jets.
Start paying attention to what the people that goes to these summits do. Watch how they live. Have they cut back on any of their excesses?

  2. The president of the United States is very limited on his travels abroad because of the humongous amount of money and resources that are used to accommodate such endeavors, and here we are with this poor nation of antigua paying for 24 or so trips a year this PM takes at the pop of US $10k-20k per trip with absolutely nothing to show for it, nothing.

Stop wasting the peoples money Gatson, sheesh 🙄.

    • When the president of the USA travels, it cost the tax payers not only from the USA but that of the visiting country millions of dollars in security aparatus. When our Prime Minister travels is only cost his airfare and some perdiem. And sometimes the inviting country just sponsors the entiore trip. Like when the Saudi Arabian government invited all the Caribbean Heads of States and their entourage at their own expense. Fully paid.

      • It’s funny you even say that sidie, because this just shows you how politicians like Gatson Browne are bought by these powerful men.
Isn’t that a form of taking a bribe as you soo readily confess to?
If you do not have the money to travel, I would not take the offer to travel if I was Gatson, so therefore he must be in the pockets of these powerful Arabians.

      • @Sideline
Did Gaston tell the nation the amount of monies he got from the Green Climate Fund and what he intends to do with it except in their pockets.

        • Always making unsubstantiated statement. What’s new. The monies are being manage by Ambassador Black-Layne. And their is an external auditor BDO to account to the donor of all the monies spend. And Ambassador Black-Layne from time to time informs the public of the draw downs of the funds. We have seen how she has been up front in making sure homes get funds for hurricane preparedness, gardeners are now been given lawnmovers that run on electric batteries. She has been introducing the use of electric cars and busses. She is presently involved in the installation of Wind Turbines at Sir Vivian Richard Stadium. And so many more projects the Department of Environment under her leadership is working. if you are interested in knowing more I suggest you pay her a visit. No minister can tell her how to spend the monies. It’s not government money. She report to the international bodies on these monies. And if at any time she messed up, they will stop the funding.

  3. Gaston gone again … what a surprise!

    CRIME HAS GONE UP!

COST OF LIVING HIGHER THAN EVER!

    TAXES GOING UP!

    NO DATES ON WATER DISTRIBUTION!

And Gaston gone away again without dealing with all the above and much much more …

Is dancing abroad a distraction, a deflection or simply a way to ESCAPE the real issues concerning the country?

PUT ANTIGUANS FIRST FOR ONCE NAH MAN …

  4. Two incompetent, arrogant failures, pappyshowing themselves on the world stage. Of course the world is aware of the hypocrisy. These are people who come from countries where things work. “Advocating for aggressive climate action. ” What a joke!
They can’t advocate for people’s back pay, millions owed to contractors, to LIAT workers; for the pathetic garbage collection, failing equipment at MSJ, shuttered clinics, police stations; for dangerous working environment at the post office and numerous government buildings; and they’re parading around the world talking about advocating for climate change. Give me a break.

  5. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Gastón Browne arrives in Dubai sitting and dining and shi**ing like spaghetti…….World boss they say…..one greedy one too.

Prayers for strength for the family who lost their loved ones.

  6. Yes two highly respected men in the international area, in specific the SIDS representative for Climate Justice. No wonder our Prime Minister was the chosen as the Chair of the SIDS on Climate Change

  7. The chief abuser of our ecology is panhandling again and has taken his senile, begging buddy along to receive the alms , reminiscent of the Stanford days when they were thrown some $400k on public TV. Every trip he makes is to ‘shake down ‘ for Personal Enrichment and Generational Wealth. Give him his free rein; one day, he will be in the news for being more than a frequent flyer.

  8. SIDELINES:What has become of that Sheikh. The one that outsmarted Gaston and got the lands at Morris Bay.Then he used that land title as collateral for a Bank Loan.I have not heard from Gaston lately,in regards to this matter. Those lands in question are owned by the People of Antigua, not Gaston Browne and or Maria Browne.

    • Remind him @ BUGSY, @ From the Sideline will conveniently ignore you, because the Morris Bay land issue is still a thorn in Gaston Browne’s side.

Remember, he still thinks Gaston Browne is on a par with Jesus …

        • … I think you’ll find that ‘tupidness is INTRINSICALLY linked 🔗 to MUCH of what you say on these ANR threads @ From The Sideline …

DON’T FORGET YOUR PRAYERS 🙏🏽 TO GASSSSSTON ‘THE GARBAGE MAN’ BROWNE 🥸

🎶”Wheeeeeel Again Me Ah Tell You Sidey … 🎤

    • And again you are spreading lies. The lands got returned back to the crown. And the Prime Minister reported on that in parliament when Pringle asked questions from the Prime Minister. But as I always say, you guys will do any and everything to spread your lies.
You would wish I was not here to debunk all of your lies.

        • Do you remember your outrageous comment on the 25th of November 2023, when you equated Gaston Browne’s garbage collection to Jesus’ washing of feet?

          I DO!

IT WAS AT THAT MOMENT THAT I REALISED YOU WERE ‘NON COMPOS MENTIS’ …

    • While away discussing climate change Mr. PM, your island is covered in black smoke from the yearly burning of tires at the dump.
WE ALL KNOW WHAT THAT DOES TO THE ENVIRONMENT AND TO OUR HEALTH.

      • And perhapds we can use the Green Climate Funds to improve our waste management at Cooks Dump, since this is an environmental hazzard. You should make the suggestion to Ambassador Black-Layne. She may get approval for the project from the donors.

Liberal Arts student selected for International Student Energy Summit
The Antigua State College is pleased to announce that Ms Dominique Bird, a year two Liberal Arts student, has been selected to attend the International Student Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi from 28 November to 1 December 2023.

Brix: Another “Bird”. Could this be Maria’s little sister?

COP28 adopts decision for Loss and Damage Fund as pledges roll in
In a pivotal moment at COP28, the draft decision for the Loss and Damage Fund has been officially adopted by the Conference of the Parties (COP) and the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement (CMA).

Brix perhaps you forget the fight that our Prime Minister lead in the early stages for this fund to be established.
    Great Leader.

    • Don’t worry ’bout me boss, I’m just hoping that you remembered your prayers 🙏🏽 to you know who … 🥸

      🤣🤣🤣

From the Sideline, you nah ready for Brixtonian!!!

    • @ From the Side.
Interestingly this is a UN event so PM’s from across the region will all be attending along with their delegation, yet we act as if Gaston is the only PM heading to Dubai.
Some even compare our travels to the US President and failed to understand how the US foreign policies and it’s travels work.
On the other hand if the UPP was governing this country PM Pringle and his delegation will be like wise on a plane heading to the same Dubai.

      • Please understand that they do what they are told and meant to do. Spread lies and trying to dumbdown the readers. And I’m here to expose them with facts and not fiction. And all they do is resort to name calling and all kinds of insult towards our prime minister. Outsiders must be wondering what kind of country we are living in, where people speak so much ill of their elected representatives. I don’t know of any country in the world where that is allowed to happen.

        • @Sidie. This is what you suggested or implied..you implied that these trips are not paid for by the Antigua government, suggesting that they are sometimes paid for by these powerful world leaders.

Isn’t that conflict of interest and can be construed as bribes?
Anyway you put it, you are and your prime minister doesn’t have the answers to the questions that are raised, because if talks were already made for your so-called green deal that Gatson Already constructed, why so many of these on going talks on this one matter?
I guess Gatson is milking the cash cow called ” The United Arab Emirates” dry.

Are you saying then that when Saudi Arabia paid for all the CARICOM HESDS to come to RYAD for a meeting. That they all were bribed.
            What a logic.

  11. The two psychopaths are in Dubai with 70,000 other people who traveled to COP
What is the big deal ! !
We all know it’s just psychobabble and talk talk talk
Meanwhile, Am waiting for the dam universe to spontaneously combust with this heat
And another tourist or national to croak from our bad roads or public structures

  12. @ From The Sidelines
I’ll advise you to stay away from the issue of UN Doner Funds: “The monies are being manage by Ambassador Black-Layne. And their (sp) is an external auditor BDO to account to the donor of all the monies spend (sp).

The late Ambassador John Ashe is turning over in his grave. You don’t want to open that pandora box about the money to Diane Black-Layne and Colin Murdock.

May his soul rest in peace.

When you say monies managed by Diane Diane- Layne; you might as well say Maria Bird-Browne.

Isn’t the Receiver/Trustee of LIAT 1974 a man from BDO?

There is a psychiatrist term “PROJECTION”; that’s what you are doing. Stop it!! We are on to your game.

    • I speak out of facts, you speak out of fiction. So continue with your spy tales. Why do you think she is carrying the title Ambassador? To date this issue has not been addressd by the Government/Parliament. And ambassador is appointed by the Prime Minister. There is therefore no position in the publice sector called ambassador. She technically reports to the Prime Minister and on other issues she reports to the PS of Health and then on other issues directly to the Donors. Antigua has created this work-around in order to be able to get money from the funds. And luckily enough it seem to be working. But Ambassador Black-Layne doesn’t report to the PS of Health at all. Yiu have many grant-funding organizations that do not want to deal directly with governments and need an independent person through which they can channel their funds through. I believe Sasha Middleton is such an independent professional. She used to word in the Environment division, was chosing as a Cheeveningen Scholar and excelled and got her Master Degree.
      https://antiguanewsroom.com/antiguan-sasha-middleton-among-commonwealth-youth-awards-2022-finalists/
Sasha is the CEO of ‘Antigua and Barbuda Marine Ecosystems Protected Area Trust Inc’, one of ten National Conservation Trust Funds in the Caribbean. The project’s mission is to actively fundraise and work with multi-sectoral partners to support the protection, recovery, and effective management of Antigua and Barbuda’s protected areas. Sasha has helped the trust to fundraise and distribute over $600,000 in recovery efforts in Barbuda, employ over 100 people in various Trust projects, and support over 40 children in after-school programmes.

The John Ash scandal is a UPP scandal. And we have heard and seen to where the money trail lead us to. The then Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer and the Minister Mansoor. The Prime Minister said he gave the money to the party, and the rest is history.
it is sad that our Prime Minister was not willing to let Justice have its course. He infact obstructed justice by not removing the diplomatic immunity from John Ash. And through some strange events he died. Very very suspecious. I will not forgive the Prime Minister for obstructing the course of Justice. He is not God (Brix). He is now part of a cover up by the UPP and whoever is part of that. But it showed us that white colar crime always get covered up. We saw the same obstruction of justice in the ABI Bank bankcruptcy. None of the directors was ever held accountable. Only because the Prime Minister refused to have the police go after them. And the sad thing is. In the end all of them that he protected hate him till now. You would think that if I keep you out of jail you would thank me. Not one of them. They hate him.

  13. You know I keep saying it. It is very sad when I have to keep on educating you guys. And the thing is you guys are deliberately stupid. All because all you want to do is smear the Prime Minister, whom you hate with a passion. But as the saying goes, “Whom God Bless, No Man Curse”. And as long as I can I will expose you all. Doesn’t matter what names you want to call me. Go ahead. Throw mud.

    • More nonsensical VERBIAGE @ From the Sideline – Enjoy my fellow patriotic Antiguans:

“It is very sad when I have to keep on educating you guys …”

You know, I don’t get many laughs and big belly guffaws on these ANR threads, but my word, @ Sidey is a fantastic comedian.

He’s the best of the best! 🤣🤣🤣

      TREMENDOUS … 😁

  14. @ From The Sideline.
I was wondering when you will use the scriptures or some religious mumbo jumbo as your defense or reasoning.

As usual when ABLP is caught with their hands in the cookie jar; the answer is always. “But look at what UPP did”.

I’m not about to deny anything the UPP has done. Neither am I defending the Barbuda Councils management of Barbuda affairs.

I would say it pales when compared to ABLP and damages of Gaston Browne ” The Lying, Cheating Conman
This intellectually and bankrupt ConMan is lecturing the world on the Environment and Global Warming.

UPP brought in Anthony Armstrong to address the issues of after not being able to get his predecessors to prosecute Lester Bird, Gaston Browne, Asot Micheal and Ronald Saunders.

Anthony Armstrong was quickly compromised by the ABLP, and became a tool of the ABLP. Today he awaits his judgement in his native Jamaica. it took an Interpol request to get him out of Antigua.

I am fully aware of your playbook.

You dig yourself deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole in your feeble attempt to defend the defenseless.

You attempt to defend Gaston and Diane Black-Lane by introducing more troubling issues.
Sasha was responsible for $600,000.00, distributed to Barbudans. Nutten Go So!
Sasha is the CEO of ‘Antigua and Barbuda Marine Ecosystems Protected Area Trust Inc’, one of ten National Conservation Trust Funds in the Caribbean. So where has she been?

This scholar is either asleep on the job; incompetent or negligent in allowing the destruction of a Ramsar site on Barbuda.

You have now raised the question of where did the money go? Provide the details if you are sure it was distributed to Barbudans.

Explain why Shasa is not doing her job, for you have now made scholarship a joke.

“I was wondering when you will use the scriptures or some religious mumbo jumbo as your defense or reasoning.”

Remember when Jesus was tempted by Satan his only defense was to use scripture to chase Satan away. And that is my first and last defense against satans such as you all. And that is why you guys cannot handle me. Always resorting to name calling and all kinds of insults towards our honorable Prime Minister whose shoelace you guys cannot even tie. Let alone walk in it.
