According to reports, the officer at the centre of the story rented a vehicle to a man whom he later alleged is involved in the drug trade.

Further reports claim that, upon learning of the man’s reputation, the officer attempted to recall the rented car.

Sources also allege that, using GPS, the corporal located the vehicle on the southeastern side of the island and went there to retrieve it.

However, the man, who was with a female companion, refused to hand it over, at the time, and drove away, instead.

It is alleged that the enraged police officer then drew his weapon and fired 12 shots at the departing vehicle, with several bullets actually striking the car – reportedly around the fuel tank and rear door.

Fortunately, however, the occupants were unharmed.

Now, sources claim, although the matter has been escalated from the corporal’s superior up to the Commissioner – and, reportedly, the minister responsible for public safety – there has been no punitive action to date.

The insiders say there appears to be an agreement among all the parties to “sweep it under the rug, so that the officer will not face criminal charges for his action in discharging the weapon.”

They add that the corporal believes he is “untouchable” by virtue of
his attachment to a senior officer.

However, word of the alleged incident has been leaked, since REAL News was alerted to this story by persons in the Diaspora, who were outraged by the reported irresponsibility of the officer and the disregard for human life.

  1. Would the situation be different if the gas tank exploded and killed the occupants of the said vehicle? Maybe….maybe not!

  2. If this story is 100 percent. The Officer should be disciplined for discharging his weapon when not endangered. If the car was moving away from the Officer. There was not a need for that reaction. So no shots should have been fired.

  3. Why should he try to take the car back when all them Dominicans in the police force is pushing so much drugs, only in Antigua 🇦🇬

  4. So if a person is involved in the drug trade does that make them less able to pay the rental fee? Do u know all what happens in and to a rented vehicle??? So why try to retrieve it after u learned of the renters status? Like really??? The person wants the car to use to do whatever… n look, u meet the man with a woman… maybe a the renters woman Cas dis story makes no damn sense… suppose the rentee decides to retaliate?

  5. mmmmmmm them run things, things na run them……the police takes care of their own… it’s the biggest brotherhood around the globe……

  6. them run things, things na run them……the police takes care of their own… it’s the biggest brotherhood around the globe……

  7. This officer who works with deputy commissioner wade things he do people as his like its not first time. He uses the office in which he work to do a lot bullshit and the time has come for him to stop. Am calling on the minister of public safety
and commissioner of police to act
This officer who last name start with w was in sex scandal, we have

  8. WTH is going on in this country? Now you wonder why all these people disappear. Too much corruption in the police force.

  9. If the officer says he wants back his car, and he came to repossess it, give it back. The car probably was loaded with contraband. Why are people like this, I’m sure the lessee probably hasn’t paid the officer for keeping the car.
Officer you can’t shoot a fleeing suspect. You know better.

    • Ok well me na have no heart to drive off in no body rental vehicle if they say they want it… Officer If I want the vehicle before due date u have to refund me for the extra time and give me a ride home…agreed? Ok will meet u there…The End….The customer was ignorant and had some right to feel that way due to the inconvenience of the sudden repossession request. The officer reacted like a dumbo and could of ended worse and would cause serious disgrace to the RPFAB..IF subben go so ..

  10. He is indeed untouchable, this isn’t the first time he a get away with he fooliness, that’s why people don’t trust us

  11. Whether the man is a drug dealer or not(allegedly) under the rules of engagement for any public servant(police) you cannot discharge your weapon without a valid and lawful reason, you just cannot do that.

Yes we have bad criminals in society, but if the people who are suppose to safeguard the general public are acting like criminals themselves by breaking the laws, then we are in serious trouble if this goes unpunished.

But having said all that, I’m not surprised one bit that this is swept under the rug, isn’t that the same thing they did when they shot and killed Manny and throw him in the back of a truck like a ragdoll?

Gatson Browne quickly got involved and step over others to fire the Airport Manager, how come he and his Knighted AG didn’t get involved in this one and fire this police, isn’t this some of the so called ” bad Apple’s” he’s trying to stamp out of his administration?

    The hypocrisy is real. Smdh.

    • Ammmm to the political part of ur comment..I don’t think Gaston cares about a corporal and his behavior because he left Rodney in charge of them…The officer won’t cause the country to lose money…

  12. His story makes no sense .. if I’m going to retreve my car I’m walking with someone .. there’s so many holes in this story.. seems like it’s man and woman story and the side man get caught between ..

  13. Shooting at a vehicle while departing from you and not coming towards you, where it poses no immediate threat to you or any other civilian life is and should be deemed Attempted Murder. I appeal to the powers that be to immediately suspend this officer without pay until an independent review of said Incident is done. And if the findings prove that a crime has been committed then charges should be filed with immediate effect. And a reduce in rank and pay if no charges are filed for discharging a weapon in public. His present address should read Coronation Road. Not Coolidge at the Old Air Force Base.

  14. The police is the law youth, they enforce it, if you don’t respect it you may bite a bullet.
You have to comply, will you risk your own life and others by running or driving away, respect anyone with a gun in hand fella.

Now if that policeman could have shoot properly than you and your likkle jellyfriend would have been history, wake rice and bbq, fry plantain, mash potato will be cooking, oh and the drinks and well wishers that chant I de know E for food and seconds, watch ya back still fella

  15. Like SAMPLE said, this story makes no sense. What makes more sense is that the officer rented out his car, the customer did not pay in the time he agreed to, and the officer sees someone else driving the car. Of course the officer will want his car back, because the agreement was for customer 1 to drive it. At the same time, the driver either rented or borrowed the car from customer 1 and knows nothing about the officer, so he Will not want to give the car to any and any one. Now, that makes more sense.

    • @Ron. So this the way to do it,just fire pullets left right and center?
Killing someone over a car that is fully insured is your justification?

Suppose a bullet woulda catch you while passing by, I bet you would have had a different tune singing today..

Bwoi Antigua must got some of the dumbest people in the world, no wonder the place a run so.
