The victim promptly reported the incident to the 911 emergency hotline, prompting the Criminal Investigations Department’s involvement.
The assault occurred around 5:45 a.m. on November 25, on the St. Johnstons Village main road, as the woman was en route to work.
The assailant, described as a masked individual of slim build, approximately 6 feet tall, struck her with a gun on the left ear after exiting a navy blue Toyota Vitz near the Spanish Bar. A gunshot was fired before the gunman fled.
The victim suffered abrasions on the left hand and a bleeding ear wound, receiving medical treatment at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.
Despite searches for spent shells, the vehicle, and the assailant in the surrounding areas, no leads were found.
