PM reacts to recent COVID-19 deaths

1. MANDATORY VACCINATION is the only option…..

   • So vaccinations are not the entire answer.

     Something more must be done. Something that should have been done from the outset of this pandemic which is to put in some intelligent protocols and rules that apply to all persons who live in or visit Antigua.

     Also, maybe procuring the Cuban vaccines would be worthwhile. They might be more efficacious in terms of preventing transmission.

     Pfizer, Moderna, AZ, etc. so far are not doing a good job of preventing transmission. Look at countries with 80+% vaccinated. They are still having outbreaks, hospitalizations and deaths.

     • SIGH……I still have a small window of hope for humanity but reading the same BS anti vax reply over and over is exhausting….One of two realities will be the end result of this pandemic either we beat this virus or it beats us….

       • The truth is these vaccines do not prevent transmission of this disease.

         Therefore, they are not enough to end the pandemic.

         We know this because there are several countries with high vaccination rates who are still experiencing outbreaks – iceland, israel, seychelles, etc.

         And while I am fully vaccinated with Moderna, all vaccines are not created equal.

         This current crop of mRNA and adeno-virus vector vaccines are nonsterilizing. They do not prevent transmission. They do have serious reported adverse effects. It is possible that some other detrimental things *might* happen or might already be happening with these vaccines. For example, the virus is able to spread silently in asymptomatic vaccinated persons. And a few other things that I will not mention and you wouldn’t understand.

         I suspect you truly know nothing about different types of vaccines or science or anything really about this disease. Just calling people “antivaxx” for being realistic and honest is pure foolishness.

         Keep pushing “just get vaccinated” if you wish. But you sound like an idiot especially considering we KNOW these vaccines will not end the pandemic because they have not ended outbreaks in countries where nearly everyone *is* vaccinated.

           If a virus is replicating (especially an RNA virus) then it is mutating.

         • Exactly. These idiots should stop running their mouths and look up the injury and death figures on the US VAERs site too.

           The eminent Dr Robert Malone points to their being a ‘pandemic’ lack of early treatment of being the cause of much of the suffering countries who’ve put all their eggs in the big pharma led vaccine basket. Successful treatment protocols are out there – and not just Ivermectin / HCQ + zinc based. Covid can be beaten.

     • I don’t think the type of vaccine really matters. The populace will just find another excuse.

   • The Israelis are currently rolling out 3rd and 4th booster jabs as within that heavily vaccinated country- the highest vaccinated country in the world by percentage- infection levels are surging. The Israelis have recently been banned from travelling to Sweden and Portugal because of their infection rates. In Israel the double vaccinated are now classified as unvaccinated.

     Go figure.

2. When will the government take this disaster seriously and lockdown? Stop blaming the victims, do your job!

   • LOCKDOWN WILL NOT BE GOOD FOR ANYBODY

     • Lockdowns don’t work. Early treatments do.

   • Just ridiculous that the man in charge always has blame for the poor people with no power.

     Antigua could be COVID free most of this past 1.5 years if Antigua had a real leader like NZ does.

     And people would pay a premium to visit one of the few, safe and COVID free places. So tourism could continue in an intelligent way.

     Also the PM and his ministers along with retired ministers could have stopped taking pay during the pandemic (along with pay cuts for the other top government earners) in order to help preserve money in the treasury for the less fortunate and other government workers.

     This money could also be used to give 500 to 1000 EC per month to poor families to make sure that everyone is at least able to eat during these difficult times.

     The bottom line is a real leader would lead and protect his people instead of sitting on his lazy behind blaming everyone else.

     • Ummmm NZ locked downed multiple times and re-opened and COVID still came. The PM Jacintha, celebrated COVID free and less than a two weeks later, it came back…..

       So tell you what……build a bunker, go live in it and see how long you can last before you have to come out.

       • That’s what has to happen here. Lockdown, open when it goes down to zero and then jump very quickly on the new outbreaks just like China. It’s worked on Antigua before. No one needs to live in a bunker, but some people need to come out of their’s if they think NZ and China haven’t been successful. Your “solution” is really just “let people die for the sake of my profits “

       • NZ a country of 11 million people has had about 26 deaths total since I last checked.

         Antigua a country of 80,000 has had 50 or so official deaths and probably a couple hundred in truth.

         NZ had ONE country-wide lockdown for 8 weeks and then most of the country got back to a relatively normal existence for the better part of 1.5 years.

         Yes, there have been short strategic lockdowns in certain areas from time to time to prevent an outbreak and save lives.

         NZ is doing things right. Antigua is not. The US where I live is not.

         The reason the pandemic continues is because of places like Antigua and the UA and Brazil who have let the virus burn through the population over and over again mutating as it goes.

The same man who is funding this vaccine came in a televised interview and said that the world have to many people and that something need to be done to control the population and for us to live in a better world at least 5 billion people need to died then came covid and you want to tell me that the vaccine he is funding will save lives give me a break.

6. Why blaming the anti vaxxers when the vaccinated had big after parties and mass gathering from my understanding one you had the vaccine you become a super spreading so the vaccinated spreading this all over antigua not the un vaccinated.

I am begging you please top dawg make another sing with the seven covid deaths in 24 hrs. The people of Antigua and Barbuda going to learn the hard way because of your failed leadership, with their lives. They have election a bunch of failures to govern over them. Time for the people to wake up. The failed experiment must go and go now.

Everytime you open your mouth you criticize criticize at all times.Knight you must realize that Covid 19 does not care if you’re RED or BLUE. It is time that you grow up and stop your NONSENSE.
