PM Browne says he has not decided on a date for the next general election

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has responded to claims by the opposition that he is scared to announce a date for the next general election for fear that his party will be defeated.

United Progressive Party leader Harold Lovell says Browne intended to call the election much sooner.

      • This is one of many reasons why we need a fixed date for Elections. When we get this,no one man could call an Election based on which side of the bed he woke up on. We need to change parts of the Constitution to conform with Antigua and Barbuda in 2022 and beyond. The present Constitution gives a Prime Minister too much power over all and sundry. Even in Cabinet,those Elected Representatives are afraid to open their damn mouths.So this Prime Minister thinks he has all of that power to do and says as he so wishes.Could that be the reason,why he behaves like a STRONG MAN,RECKLESS AND CONDESCENDING. We the people of Antigua,not Barbuda,should stop being sodomized.
