He told the Grenada Broadcasting Network that the pandemic has placed a strain on them.

Well do something about it. We are overworked and underpaid. We don’t mind working but do something to show us your appreciation. Nurse salary is $3000 and minister secretary is $5000. Data entry clerks $1000 stipend. Medical personnel none. Who they said should get still have to beg for it. Y’all use us like slaves and nobody respects us. That’s why we are leaving one by one for better opportunities. You can talk all you want but no nurse is leaving Canada or USA to come here to work. SLMSJMC don’t even have a pension plan. We the health care workers don’t even have medical insurance paid for by our employers but most statutory bodies have that in place. The salary so small we can’t even apply for a mortgage. We still get problems for duty free if we try to bring in a vehicle. On top of that we still have to pay for covid test at the hospital to use the services there. What is done to show us appreciation.

This letter is addressed to the wrong person. The PM cannot help you. It is the unvaccinated people that are over running your hospital. They are selfish and do not care about you or anyone else. I wish you could turn them away when they present themselves to the gate. They not only putting their lives at risk but the entire country for that matter. Wish we could build a concentration camp for them. So, we can separate them from us. Just like what we used to do with people that had lepra in those days. The PM has done more than enough. We are so fortunate to have about five different vaccines. Not many countries can boost that. We cannot be held hostage by a minority for whatever frivolous reason as they want claim. PM open up the country. And let who dead dead.

I don’t know why some of you all think that once somebody is unvaccinated, they automatically have covid. A strong immune system is the key to be covid free. And I’m even rhyming to. What a thing. You are so intelligent, but you fail to read the data that comes out every day. Over ninety percent of people being hospitalized and subsequently die from Covid are unvaccinated. We have a few breakthrough cases but that would be something the healthcare could handle. That is why it is now called the pandemic of the unvaccinated. A vaccinated person that gets covid usually gets it mild and does not have to be hospitalized. The vaccine works exactly as it was mend to.

The issue with late payment had to do with over time payment. Agreed more has to do be done for the Nurses and will happen soon.
