Antigua’s APUA General Manager Drives Major Water Supply Expansion, Says Prime Minister Gaston Browne

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has credited the new APUA General Manager, John Bradshaw, for spearheading a significant expansion in Antigua and Barbuda’s water supply infrastructure.

Speaking on Pointe FM over the weekend, Browne highlighted Brer’s impactful leadership, stating, “John Bradshaw is making a major difference… Leadership matters, and he has demonstrated the capacity to deliver well.”

This commendation comes in the context of a recent partnership with Seven C’s to provide 3 million gallons of water per day, a move Browne describes as a crucial step towards addressing longstanding water challenges.

He emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships, stating, “The best combination is one of a public-private sector arrangement.”

Addressing concerns about potential politicization of water production, Browne acknowledged, “The production of water could be weaponized during the election,” but refrained from casting any specific aspersions, emphasizing the need for responsible management.

Browne outlined the timeline for the increased water supply, noting, “I’m told that a portion of it should be delivered within 6 months… it will happen way before 18 months.”

He also mentioned plans to install an additional water plant at Bethesda, aiming to reach a total production of 15 million gallons of water per day.

  1. And the water situation is as bad as ever.

So once you GASTON says so its so? Hell to the NO. E BADDA DAN EVER. TAP LIE.
Maybe it betta day a HODGES BAY AND POINT FM AND JOLLY HABA, BUT NOT THE REST A ANTIGUA.

    • More nonsense! 12 million gallons being produced per day, yet we can’t see water more than twice per week for a few hours and have to endure ridiculously high water bills.

  2. Gassssston, hush-up ya mout’, and quiet yourself.

Less talk and more action, because there are still plenty plenty Antiguans without water 💦 into their homes, to bathe; wash dem clothes; and flush their toilets.

    ACTION NOW!

  3. Really? Some areas have gotten water about 3 or 4 times for the year. And the APUA’s destruction of the country’s roads continue. Sometimes you don’t notice until you drop into one of these craters across the road and burst a tyre or bend a rim. Is that good or intelligent management to burst the road in half to lay a pipe and then leave? That seems to be indifference and stupidity. The World Boss seems to be gullible or is easy to impress.

  4. So why did the PM take so long to change the head of the APUA?
If he was proactive this would have happened years ago.
What was the minister in charge doing about this situation??
    Absolutely nothing it seems!

  5. A professional liar will always believe his lies. We have the greatest liar of all time, who leads by manipulation, lies, and corruption

  6. Gaston is feeling the heat. The master of casting aspersions is expressing concern about the lack of water being weaponized for election.

In other words he is working on getting water only because he don’t want it to be used against him during elections.

Gaston Browne does not see the supply of water as a basic government responsibility. It’s a political weapon that he is running from.
The words of a sad sissy ass.

  7. Kudos to the new General Manager and APUA.
From since January I’m getting water about 6 days a week now (most of the time) whereas before I was only getting water 3 days a week until 1 pm.
I am very grateful. This is in St. John’s after Vivian Richards street.
    Good job

  8. Anything Gaston elated about is that this new manager give new life to his trail of money persuance, while money schemes can be created it’s all the better for Gaston, and millions of it that’s is.
That water thing with all the plants drawing electrical energy from the grid will be beneficial to the Hadeed group in terms of kilowatts hour payment, Apua infrastructure upgrade will be needed, and factors like power suppression since Apua is some what conventional and don’t do live line work, lack of apparatus on the line to maintain frequency and voltage stability will see frequent break down of these plants.
