Percival Calls For Sir Prince To Be Made A National Hero

9

One of the closest friends of the late Sir Prince Ramsey has called for him to be made a National Hero.

Sir Prince was laid to rest today in an official funeral.

Delivering the eulogy, Bernard Percival said Sir Prince has done enough for Antigua and Barbuda to be deserving of the nation’s highest honour.

He said all that Sir Prince did already makes him a national treasure “but we hope one day very soon to the status of National Hero of Antigua and Barbuda.”

A petition has also been launched to rename the hospital in memory of Sir Prince.

Others who knew Sir Prince well also gave tributes to his character and shared stories about Antigua’s most beloved son.

His classmate, Dr Selvyn Rocke said: “it is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to this humanitarian, servant-master, doctor par excellence, dedicated family man and friend.”

More tributes later.

  1. I second that Bernard. I hope Gaston gives it soe serious thought. The merits are there.
One man plays cricket and is recognized by the world as the greatest batsman ever and we knight him for that.
One man is a doctor and has been recognized by the whole world for the work he did especially with AIDS victims. And what do we do?
Mr. PM please discuss this with your Cabinet at net meeting

  2. I have every confidence that Sir Prince will be officially recognized as a National Hero. With or without the title, he already is our National Hero, but he should be recognized as such. The Prime Minister will do the right thing.

The hospital should also call his name. We are a blessed people to have had such a one walk among us.

  3. What is the criteria for a national hero? It is clear that we have not yet settled on this question. For me, A hero is a person who is admired and acknowledged for their courage, outstanding achievements, and noble qualities. A National Hero is someone who beyond that, has made significant positive contributions to the growth and development of society, and represents all of us. Whatever the merits for or against the call to make the late Dr. Ramsey a National HERO , it is clear that we have not yet settled on a proper formula for selecting deserving Antiguans and Barbudans.

    • Oh my gosh!!!!!! Dem verrrrrryyy sexy…..wonder if dem taken?

      • They need to move back to Antigua for real. The older one esp is a sight for sore eyes. Delicious.

  4. In my humble mind Sir Ramsey is already a hero, but its really hard for me to understand that a man can stay from the sideline and undermined Sir Viv achievements, what a blasted shame, that’s why you will remain on the sideline, you will never get on the field.

    • Only you could read from my comments that I was undermining one friend over another. I was only pointing out the similarities of their achievements and that therefore the government should have no difficulties in awarding Prince the same accolade of National Hero. But you can take it as you wish I know I did not an never undermine my friend Sir Viv and neither would I want anyone to do so.
