The programme has been conducted in phases and on June 2nd was the National Coastal Clean-Up which yielded some 248.4 tonnes of waste and 117 trips to the landfill.
June 3rd was inland Clean-Up and Community Litter Picking which yielded 104.6 tonnes of garbage from 72 trips to Cooks.
The ministry of health estimates that in total from May 26th to June 10th there have been 1,747 trips to the landfill with 3,235.19 tonnes of waste.
National Bulk Waste Clean-Up 268 was of Wed.13. June with 64 trucks on schedule, and will continue right into Sunday June 17th 2018 for those areas which have not yet been reached.
As of Monday, June 18th, business return to normal and individuals may call the Solid Waste Hotline at 562-1347.
