Source- REAL NEWS:MP Jamale Pringle, the leader of the Opposition, is expressing
dismay that a tourist was injured as a result of this country’s poor road infrastructure.

He reports that the visitor, who had arrived here on board a cruise ship, was part of a tour group cycling around the island on Thursday, November 30. CLICK HERE FOR OUR WHATS APP

It was in the Fig Tree Drive area that the mishap occurred, Pringle says.

Reportedly, the bike became stuck in some asphalt that had been dislodged by the recent rainfall, and the tourist flew over the handlebars of the bicycle and landed on the road, damaging his shoulder.

Pringle says he received several calls about the incident on Thursday.

The Opposition leader, who is also the parliamentary representative for All Saints East and St. Luke, has been complaining for years about the condition of the roads in the constituency. CLICK HERE FOR OUR WHATS APP

However, he has been ignored – as Prime Minister Gaston Browne has declared that those constituencies not won by the Antigua Labour Party will not be a priority for his administration.

Therefore, the infrastructure in a number of communities remains
in a deplorable state.

Pringle notes that Fig Tree Drive is one of the most popular routes for tours in Antigua and Barbuda, and yet the road is in such a bad
condition.

The Government needs to stop playing politics with people’s lives and become proactive – instead of being reactive all the time, the Opposition leader says.

Learn fu pick.de beam outta you own yeye fuss…

  3. @ RED RED and Hmmmmmmmm?

You low level britches- is Pringle in power? Does he control the resources of government?

His whooping $2,000.00 per month can fix all your roads and infrastructure problems in your area. YES, HIS $2,000.00 CAN DO ALL DAT.
Pringle is an honest upright citizen who has never held public office. Please ask your boast PM who claims he has a net worth of $300,000,000 to use some of his wealth to clean up the awful state of affairs in Antigua. The place so stink and nasty.
R U NAR SHAME OF THE ABLP AND THIS INCOMPETENT GOVERNMENT? YOU MINIONS

    • When did the PM claim that his net worth $300,000,000? You all must stop the exaggeration just to be spiteful. The PM declared a net worth of thirty million ($30,000,000). The opposition leader has a similar net worth from picking up dead animals.

  4. It is the responsibility of the Government/Administration to fix all public roads and streets? The people living in all areas paid their damn taxes into said Government coffers. So how could the Government Leader say.No funds would be spent on those constituencies not won by his political party. You people need to get up off your rears and protest. That is your rights so to do.

    • @BUGSY…a wah a guarne?!
This lack of accountability and lack of funding, for Communities can be easily rectified, once the PEOPLE demands, “get up off your rears and protest,” for the re-establishment, of VILLAGE COUNCILS/LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, whose MEMBERS are elected, not appointed every four(4) yesrs to manage the affairs of the COMMUNITY’S.
They’ll get a BUDGET allocated within, the NATIONAL BUDGET regardless, of which political party won that seat which the Community is in.
We need to get rid of some of these NON FUNCTIONING, under performing BOARDS and many of these useless AMBASSADORSHIPS!

In a sense, the PEOPLE are being held hostage by their own inaction(s), by allowing the Ruling Arm of the Government, to WEAPONISE Municipal Services.

      • Ras Smood: Were you around in 1968? The people of that time stood up to the Forces then. The Government,Defense Force,Police Force and did not back down an inch.Where did it all go wrong since then?

      • I see we are at it again! The minions are great at deflecting. Last time I checked, we have an elected government whose responsibility is to put plans in place to fix our infrastructure through out the country. There is no denying the failure of this present administration, Things have gone from bad to worse! If only they would put the people first thing would be so much better. Instead it’s all self interest with the support of those too blind to see.

  5. How much money public works spent on the roads over the last 16 years? How much was spent buying used oil from hadeed?

  6. Oh please, why does Pringle always cancel out his own argument? The reason why cyclists (road) like his area is it(also St Mary’s South ) has some of the best roads on the island. As an avid cyclist (road) the idea of cycling elsewhere means getting ready to change bearings and higher risk of a crash. The roads in rural north have gotten worse since the storm and unless you are gravel bike or mountain biking, are nothing to look forward to. Fact is the recent storms have worsened the road infrastructure and Pringles area is better than most.

  7. 10men
Pringle drives a nice keep. I wanna drive a nice Jeep. Do I move to John Hughes. How do I get my keep from harney to John Hughes! Cause allsaints road is the absolute worst thing next to Buckley line!

    • @mercedes .. You need to drive that road in PAYNTERS just before the government housing project and even after the turn. There to me is the worst on island, especially just before you get to Pahrum.. Rode there on my bike about a week ago and it was a pothole not loose dirt that almost brought me over the steering wheel. Its like new holes appearing daily. Anyway I see the pothole fillers have started to do the usual patching
