A section of Sir Sidney Walling Highway is being affected by single lane traffic as part of ongoing works associated with the Government of Antigua and Barbuda Second Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project now underway.
The single lane traffic management procedure will last a week and will affect the flow of traffic between the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium and the junction of Parham Main Road (Parham Corner).
The ongoing single lane traffic management plan will continue until October 5th2020.
To regulate the flow of traffic where full depth reconstruction will be ongoing, early warning signs to indicate road work in progress as well as temporary traffic lights and traffic cones will be in place to regulate the traffic in the work zone area.
Public Relations Office, Project Implementation Management Unit has said:
The contracting firm intends to fully close the section of road between the stadium and the turn off to Parham on Sir Sidney Walling Highway to all through traffic.
Local access will be maintained for farmers, and patrons to businesses and residents within the closure limits for the duration of the planned full road closure.
At the end of the ongoing single lane traffic management procedure, all through traffic will be diverted and the established diversion plan will be made public before the end of the ongoing single lane procedures.

As expected the paint used to mark the road on Friars Hill road has started to wash out. WHO IS BENEFITING FROM THIS. WHO IS THE SUPPLIER OF THIS PAINT?
I noticed the same thing. That paint supplier better reimburse the people’s government immediately. Chupz.
They should be using Thermoplastic road marking paint. That would hold on the roads for years.
