New vaccine cards to be rolled out next week

Cabinet Reports:

The Minister of Information Melford Nicholas says new vaccine cards could be rolled out as soon as next week.

He explained that vaccination/certificates cards which can be read on multiple electronic platforms will soon become a reality.

The cards will likely be used for travel within the CARICOM region, certifying the Covid-19 vaccination status of its owner; it may also be utilized when entering several ports in the USA if an agreed-upon format is reached.

Paper documents that are now issued will  not be used.

  1. Presumably there will be a 6-month overlap where use of cards and paper documents will be accepted, to give the Ministry of Information time to get it right, iron out the kinks and actually deliver a product that IS acceptable globally.
    We can but hope.

    What will the cost be to each vaccinated national?

    I wonder how much A&B is paying this American company to supply a special A&B product?
    And if any ‘enrichment’ is going down?

    What happened to the Minister of Tourism plan for Antiguans to utilize the IATA e-certificate?
    An EXISTING platform that IS recognized globally?
    Quick to adopt, proven.
