New road construction and repair techniques are to be introduced by the Works Ministry

CABINET NOTES: The Cabinet was informed by the Minister of Works that roller-compact- concrete-pavement will become the new method for road building.

The pavement absorbs far less moisture than asphalt roads, to which Antiguans have grown accustomed, and will not develop potholes.

Samples were shared with Cabinet members. Work on community roads will commence shortly utilizing this new technology. Construction work requires the use of heavy machinery too. To get such machinery at best prices, one must check the deals for direct sale heavy machinery in LA.

Rehabilitation of the Magistrates’ Court on High Street is almost complete and the building may likely be ready by the end of January 2024 if no disruptions take place.

The Cabinet agreed to complete the seating stand at the Bolans Playing Field which was stalled because of the lack of building resources and other challenges.

  1. Maybe by 2076 if I live to see 90 I will also see proper roads in Antigua even if it’s from the gallery in a wheel chair….It’s the 21st flipping century things like water issues and proper roads should long be sorted out…

  2. not only roads but drainage is a major issue, so clearing the water ways needs to be on the agenda along with areas where there are highly over grown bushes. The country stink and dirty!!!
