“I came to the comments to say you are not alone.

Thank you for being brave to say something.

When I saw the headline of this story, my mind went to one doctor who I went to see when I was a teen.

And he did the same thing to me that you described, he said he wanted to apply a cream with his penis to get it inside and made comments about my private areas, asked me about if I had a boyfriend to do it for me and more perverse things. It was just him and me in the room.

I was so embarrassed and sickened I never told anyone ever.

I am now 35 and I wish I had said something then but I can’t stand the way people want to judge you and berate you as if it was your fault. Look at some of the other comments.

It makes me sick just remembering him, disgusting man. When I was very young (6,7 years old), a cousin was staying the night and would sneak over to me and molest me in the night.

I got the courage to tell my mom because she saw I was different and she made sure he never stayed over again and I’m not sure what happened after that, I never saw him again.

One of my aunts said she didn’t believe me and I must have fabricated the whole story.

I found that out as an adult that she said that.

To this day I still feel the pressure on me and feeling helpless under his weight and not understanding what was happening but feeling so sick, afraid, ashamed.

So this is just to give an example of how some people (women and men) cannot accept this disgusting culture of not believing victims of sexual abuse, and why people are afraid to talk about it.

I don’t know if the doctor this article is about is the same one, but I hope a proper investigation is done and if guilty they bring him to severe justice.

And to any parents reading this tell your children to never agree to being in a room with any healthcare professional alone.”

    • DOESN’T MATTER!!!! KISS MY BLOODCLAAT TEETH POINT IS AINT NOW THESE DOCTORS DOING IT A FROM LONH TIME

    • A man who my parents had trusted to teach me maths sexually assaulted me. I was 12. I fell into deep depression. Until I was sixteen, I kept my anguish from the experience to myself.

You would understand if, God forbid, you experienced sexual trauma.

Only the physical side of sexual abuse is discussed. There is an emotionally and spiritually side. Of course, that is not how people like you think.

Be kind. You could have been the one.

  1. Now are u just give me a brake them need fu just leave the doctor alone a talk bout u a wander if a the same doctor if u min report him an call he name he won’t have move to a nother victim are u fuckers both u an the doctor because u a keep the same secret the doctor a keep

    • It is because of cruel comments just like yours, why victims of rape refuse to talk! Unless you have been molested, you cannot feel the sense of being devalued that it brings! Some people, with therapy, get over it! Others never do! It is this fear of being stigmatized that allows the perpetrator to hold the victim’s mental health to ransom! I am not saying that the doctor did or didn’t do it! I am saying, if the victim said she has been sexually traumatized, that is sufficient to investigate thoroughly! Prevention is better than cure! And please, folks like you, who are insensitive, do you have a daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, Mom? What if it were them? I Need not say more!

    • My God you are cold blooded, and heartless 🥱🤔😤💔 lots of persons, they are afraid to speak and I can understand why I feel the woman’s pain

    • How would you handle that kind of trauma, God forbid it were you instead of her?

Would you report it in a minute? Alright, well done. Encourage others to come forward, not scare them into remaining silent.

What if it was a female relative or your daughter? What if one of them happened to read your comment and had such a trauma?

Knowing that your face remains anonymous, some of you simply enjoy making stupid remarks. Stop it!

    • You’re nothing but an inconsiderate and illiterate fool. The moderators have no right publisihing these insensitive comments.

    • If this happens to a woman. She should report it. Don’t wait until many yrs later to bring up your story to try start a local #metoo movement. You will be tarnishing someone’s name just by the mere accusation. So u need to do it when it’s fresh so it can be proven. Not years later when it’s hard to get the necessary evidence

  2. Some of you all people sick do you know hoe hard it is when you get sexual asult know you will not because it never happen to you people it happen to me when i was 9 and it hunted me for years thats ove 40 yrs try taking peels cannot learn nothing forgot fast so please let it happen to you as a kid and you will know it is still hunting so please becarefull the way you all talk it never vappem to you all stuuuuuups

  3. I’m sorry that this happened to you. No one should have to experience that. I trust that something good will come from you telling your story. All across the Caribbean, we have so much work to do on our popular culture because it is one that actively propagates stigma, and is beholden to the power of shame. Rather than trafficking amongst ourselves in stigma and shame, let us instead be merchants of empowerment and affirmation for the vulnerable.
It’s often said, “Silence = death”. Lady, speak your truth, and live!

  5. I’m truly sorry to hear about what you went through. It takes immense courage to share such a painful and personal experience, and your voice matters. It’s never easy to speak up about instances of abuse, especially when they involve individuals we are taught to trust like doctors. Your story sheds light on the reality that these experiences can have a lasting impact on a person’s life.

Remember, it is never too late to seek support and healing. Your voice can inspire others to come forward and seek justice. I hope you find the strength and support you need to navigate through this difficult time. You are not alone, and there are resources and people who are ready to listen and help you.

  8. To all those individuals who have been sexually harassed, assaulted and or abused, this is the time to create the Antigua and Barbuda #ME TOO moment.

Exposed the perpetrators be they doctors, family members, politician ministers or religious ministers.

Unless they are exposed, and face the consequences this behavior on the vulnerable will continue.

  9. The law so influenced by people in high places … everyone is entitled to judgement… even Jesus was judged … jail them

  10. I went through this when I was in my teen twice at holberton hospital. These doctors aint no joke. He was rubbing my nipples and his eyes rolled back. I tried to give my mom signals but she was so clueless. And the second time was when I lost my fiest baby and the same doctor did this to me again and my baby father asked him what he was doing and he stated that he was checking for lumps or abnormalities. Nasty ass doctors.

  11. Oh please!!! Doctors assault you’ll every day when you’ll garn go dash way belly.

    Dis a ole news..next. 🤣

  12. My dear I do hope you get the needed help.for the trauma your suffered as a child and as a teen. Im.happy that you made a conscious decision to speak about it and I’m quite sure that others will do the same. Whether it’s the same doctor or not we know that there are evil people out there . Counseling can play a significant factor in your life so I encourage to seek out the available resources. Blessings my dear and remember it was not your fault
