Myst Carnival has noted with concern and regret the damage done to Sagicor’s fence during the T-shirt mas on Saturday 28th July 2024.

We want to make it unequivocally clear that we do not condone or support any form of vandalism or destructive behavior.

We consider the actions of the individuals to be unacceptable behaviour which does not reflect the values or principles of Myst Carnival.

In the spirit of having a good time, we firmly believe that respect for people and property must be maintained.

  3. I see nothing in this statement that reflects how Myst is going to address the accountability of the perpetrators. These people were under your banner.
    Nor is Myst the only ones here to share in the accountability but also the authorities who were enablers by forcing Sagicor to remove their barbed wire fencing which formed a part of their own security.
    We must teach people to face the responsibility of their actions.

    I would have expected you to say that Myst Carnival will take the responsibility and repair the broken fence.

    That’s the moral and ethical thing to do!

  5. So who is responsible for the fixing of the fence? Some of these individuals faces are showed in the video.. Nonsense that was on they part!! You can have have fun in a decent manner with our peoples property getting damage.. Again who going to fix the people them fence?

  8. Sagicor should sue Myst and the Government or the Government Dept/Minister who encouraged this in whatever form.

    Sagicor had a reason and this reasoning was from years of experience with same said property which is their fence and their rights to. The Government Minister and or the department should Financially compensate Sagicor for damaged property.

    Myst as well should compensate Sagicor for damaged property.

  10. MYSTY CONDEMNATION – SHORT OF PUNITIVE ACTION – COMMENDABLE

    Though not necessarily appeasing to the ‘…AGGRIEVED PROPERTY OWNERS,’ still, this is ‘…Highly Commendable’ of ‘…MYST CARNIVAL.’

    Though somewhat a ‘…Mysty Condemnation,’ either inadvertently or deliberately dropping ‘…SHORT OF PUNITIVE ACTION’ against its ‘…RECKLESS REVELLERS,’ this does not necessarily negate ‘…LIABILITY’ for their behavior.

    MYSTY CARNIVAL – MISTY BACCHANAL

    Now, any entity called ‘…MYST CARNIVAL,’ it means that ‘…REVELLERS’ not properly vetted and aligned with its ‘…CORE VALUES,’ or its ideals of that which should constitute ‘…CLEAN FUN AND FROLIC,’ it could very well mean ‘…MISTY BACCHANAL.’

    INSPIRED REVELLERS RECKLESSNESS

    KING STUPID -DESTRUCTIVE BEHAVIOR

    The ‘Reveler’ that started the ‘…DESTRUCTIVE BEHAVIOR,’ shall be called: ‘…KING STUPID.’

    Had he not started the fiasco, it would not now have caused ‘…Commissioner Atlee Rodney’ to be looking for ‘…King Stupid’ to charge him with ‘…Malicious Damage.’

    Finally, while the ‘…Development Control Authority (DCA),’ may or may not have ‘…Inspired ‘…Revelers’ Recklessness,’ it shall still be chided for its ‘…Intimidatory Behavior’ toward the ‘Private Property Owner/s.’

    INTIMIDATORY – INCONSISTENT WITH SPIRIT AND INTENTION OF LAW

    Such was clearly ‘…INCONSISTENT’ with THE ‘…SPIRIT AND INTENTION OF LAW,’ more particularly, ‘…SECTIONS 40 (1): and 82’ [Physical Planning Act (PPA): No. 6 of 2003].

    MISTIC AND SADDISTIC

    OSTRACIZE THE ‘…MISTIC AND SADISTIC REVELLERS,’ THEN ALL SHALL HAVE A ‘…HAPPY: ENJOYABLE AND MEMORABLE CARNIVAL- 2024.’

  11. Antigua really does as they like. Carnival so block off major roads so revellers can walk in the streets, vendors everywhere clogging up pavment areas so pedestrians must walk in the road in traffic, big trucks with trailers carrying soundsystem and stage blocking the entry to long established businesses and are told its only for carnival. The sagior fence is the latest example of how the law is really a joke in Antigua. No wonder the youth are getting out of control… the example they are given is appalling.

  12. I hope sagicor sends you a whopping bill to rebuild their fence, you guys are disgraceful and should be ashamed of your behavior, no upbringing whatsoever.

  13. 1. I’m still waiting to see where Myst takes responsibility for fixing the people and dem fence. They as well as any other perpetrators should be made to compensate the company.

    2. Sagicor was still wrong to put barbed wire mid fence instead of on the top of the fence and on the public facing side and not the private property side. Revellers are not the only persons who traverse there….so do innocent people, children and animals. They would have been liable had anyone injured themselves on it. That being said some plywood or form ply barricade would likely have been a better option to safeguard their fence…DCA couldn’t trouble them about that.

  14. If they really regret, they should take responsibility and fix the fence. They should also assist the police with locating the perpetrators of this malicious damage (if they’re interested in doing so) and take action against the DJ who is reported to have encouraged the vagabondry

I absolutely think that the myst players that did this to the fence and the dj that encouraged it need to be held responsible for this damage and pay to repair it back to its original condition. That’s the fair and responsible thing to do. These people have no respect for other peoples property, pure slackness

  16. DCA AND THE gOVERNMENT ENDED UP WITH DUNG ON THEIR FACES. THE PROPERTY OWNER SECURED THEIR PREMISES AND DCA THREATENED THEM TO REMOVE THAT BARRIER OR ELSE THEY WOULD BREAK IT DOWN. DCA IS THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE GOVERNMENT AND BEHAVES LIKE GANGSTERS. ONE DAY,SOME DAY,THEY WOULD GET THEIR JUST DUES.POWER TENDS TO CORRUPT,AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY.
