Freeland Condemns Vandalism After Campaign Banner Torn Down in Potters

Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) candidate for St. George, Michael Freeland, says one of his campaign banners in Potters was ripped down following a United Progressive Party (UPP) rally, describing the incident as part of a broader pattern of vandalism targeting his campaign materials.

In a social media post shared Friday, Freeland said, “My banner in Potters was ripped off after the UPP rally last night. This is only the latest act of vandalism, following the taking down of posters and other campaign materials in East Berlin and other areas.”

He condemned the actions and urged those responsible to stop.

“I condemn these acts, and further call on any individuals involved in such activities, in St. George or any other constituencies, to desist,” Freeland said.

The ABLP candidate framed the incidents as a distraction from his campaign message, pointing instead to his platform and plans for the constituency.

“My record, plans and vision for this great constituency are clear. I call upon my supporters and well-wishers to remain resolute and focused as we gear up to take St. George into a New Era, on election day – April 30th,” he said.

Freeland also sought to rally support ahead of the polls, adding, “Together We Stand!”

The post was shared by the ABLP as campaigning intensifies ahead of the April 30 general election.

  1. What rests on your condemnation???
Earlier in the week Adrian Williams caught a laboRAT destroying his billboard.
Not a word of condemnation has come from the labour party’s side.
Their silence smells of approval of the action by the laboRAT.
You who are a candidate in the upcoming elections kept quiet.
Do you want people to feel sorry for you today now that your billboard had been damaged?
    No. No. No. No. No.
You apparently are not familiar with this saying:
“At first they came for the Jews. I said nothing because I was not a Jew. Then they came for the Catholics. I said nothing because I was not a Catholic. Then they came for the Protestant. I said nothing because I was not a Protestant. Then they came for me. However there no one to speak for me.”
The person or persons responsible should have also taken the plywood and lumber.
You are lucky you have them there to put on a new poster.

  2. Well as least he can consider himself lucky in not loosing everything.

Contrast this with the UPP candidate Emanuel Peters in St.Johns Rural South! They took everything for him, wood, timber and plywood, while a nearby billboard of the ABLP candidates remains untouch.

  3. This Guy Michael Freeland is a big disgrace anyhow you turned it. If people like him is elected to parliament, then Antigua and Barbuda will sooner disappear.
