In observance of International Nurses Day 2023, the Minister of Health, Wellness, Social Transformation, and the Environment, Sir Molwyn Joseph, has joined both public and private sector Nurses in Antigua and Barbuda.

He applauded them for their outstanding service in the field of health, acknowledging that they are the backbone of the healthcare system.

International Nurses Day is celebrated on May 12th every year, which marks the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale.

The International Council of Nurses (ICN) honours the selfless contributions of Nurses on this day worldwide.

Under the theme ‘Our Nurses, Our Future’, Sir Molwyn expressed his gratitude to Nurses for their dedication and hard work in the development of healthcare in Antigua and Barbuda.

He emphasized that the government has established arrangements to facilitate academic preparation in various specializations of Nursing.

Scholarships have also been established for Nurses at the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus in Antigua and Barbuda.

Furthermore, the Minister encouraged interested persons to consider Nursing as a noble profession and avail of the scholarship opportunities provided. He urged Nurses to continue inspiring others and being a source of motivation.

In conclusion, the Minister wished all Nurses a happy International Nurses Day 2023.

  1. They don’t want applause you ignorant fool!

Our nurses want a decent wage, better equipment and a medical team to match.

Stop following the UK with this pointless applauding. Look where it got their National Health Service after two years of clapping, flag waving, and banging of pots and pans. Nothing, nada, Zilch! They are now striking for more money and better working conditions.

    Sounds familiar doesn’t it?

Molwyn ‘AstraZeneca’ Joseph … leave the studio man!

  2. Lol u ain’t seeing the shots man

When the nurses leave for greener pastures they can target countries lower gdp than us to come work and replace the nurses like them from Cuba cuz Antigua wage higher than Cuba (check Dominica and they use ECD, and they wage low) so they can extend the time to keep paying ppl less

    Use ya head nah man!!

With a foreigner working here u get to pay them less and still have immigration fees looming over their head, which is tax government money

    That’s maths

They literally just brought like 7 or 10 Cubans for hospital to account for the over 100 something nurses saying that’s to help bridge the gap

Lmaooo u not thinking like the old generation they pass on problems and what’s not broken don’t fix

It’s by far easier to force an immigration trade off than to pay them more. So when ours migrate

Same thing, grass may be greener for them but not for the ones who been there originally

    Vicious cycle huh

    Lol

  3. Yes they want ppl to resign…that how they plan to fix the ENORMOUS public sector wage bill. Get the Cubans and enrich the landlords (their friends) while ya own go ah foreign as a result of systemic frustration AND FORFEIT ANY PENSION DUE THEM

I think that MOLWYN is SATAN himself. I think that he is evil, wicked and thinks he must win at all costs (you can lock ya house from a tief, but you can’t lock ya house from a liar)
