Dear Editor,
The time has come for meaningful change in St. Peter. With the passing of former MP Asot Michael, our constituency stands at a crucial crossroads that demands thoughtful consideration of who can best serve our community’s interests.
The 2023 election results spoke volumes. The current caretaker, Rawdon Turner’s performance was nothing short of disappointing, securing a mere fraction of voter support.
This wasn’t merely about numbers – it reflected a fundamental disconnect between leadership and constituents. Time and again, Turner has demonstrated an inability to genuinely relate to the people of St. Peter, a quality that is absolutely essential for effective representation.
In Chaneil Imhoff, we have a candidate who embodies everything our constituency needs. Her political journey isn’t one of convenience – she has been steadfastly committed to public service and community development for years.
What sets her apart is her remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Whether speaking with farmers in Parham, fishers along our coast, or young entrepreneurs in our communities, Chaneil listens with genuine interest and understanding.
Her brilliant mind and analytical approach to problem-solving are exactly what St. Peter needs to address its complex challenges.
She brings fresh energy combined with years of experience in community organizing and advocacy. Unlike the inconsistent messaging we’ve seen from the current caretaker, Imhoff has maintained a clear, humble, and steady presence in our community.
The ABLP has an opportunity to demonstrate true progressive leadership by selecting a candidate who represents both competence and connection. Chaneil Imhoff isn’t just a choice for change – she’s a choice for better, more responsive representation that St. Peter desperately needs.
The people of St. Peter deserve a representative who not only understands their challenges but has the capability and commitment to address them. Chaneil Imhoff is that person, and the ABLP would be wise to recognize what many in our community already know – she is the future our constituency needs.
Sincerely,
A Parhamite

How disrespectful of the current ABLP administration to be announcing a candidate for St Peter when the recent departed Asot Michael hasn’t even been buried, and importantly there is still an ongoing investigation for possible murder.
Gaston Browne has the morals of an alley cat.
The man has no decorum whatsoever …
please send the link to the news item officially announcing “a candidate for St. Peter”
You mussa really knock u head on that UPP CAN’T PARK AT EAST BUS STATION!
wamp to Peter “WINK UP” Redz???
This sound like Pigmeat wrote this. This is a woman who masquerade as a mental health specialist with no theoretical training or accreditation. This is woman who has been apart of every political party in Antigua, she has no loyalty. This is a woman who will more than likely get less votes than Aziza Lake. For all the talks about Gaston Browne, he is no fool. Why you think Gaston place Lamin up ASE and SL? Gaston know Lamin will be packing his Georgie bungle. Just give me a break Pigmeat
Really now Brix really?? You really throwing anything to the wall to see what “sticks” just to say you are criticizing ABLP. This is actually pathetic really. Sure youou were just looking for an opening to come with this lame attempt to criticize ABLP. This is beyond pathetic even for a certified hater like you.
Labour Party must not want that seat. If this gal ya get 19 votes she lucky
Six and half ah dozen is the same… Smh
👍 Chaneil would be perfect for St. Peter! I’ve seen her in action – always out there talking with everyone, from the fishermen to the young people trying to start businesses. She’s not just showing up for show either – she actually listens and comes up with real solutions. What I love most is how she keeps it real and stays humble while being super smart. She’s been putting in the work for years now, and honestly, it’s time for someone like her to step up. St. Peter needs fresh energy with real experience, and Chaneil brings both. 100% supporting this!
Some of these comments are so ridiculous. This girl has done nothing to anyone and has been giving of herself since she was a teenager. Don’t come on here with your since psychology, we don’t want Turner! He can’t even drive through the village and say howdy.
Come on man! Yall don’t like her cause UPP decided to try to destroy her for not being a yes woman. Think for yourselves!!!
19 ah plenty…just amazing how they how they’re gonna need the same people they avoided in their everyday living..
Loaded and waiting…
Melford Nicholas had a similar political journey. The only thing, there was no social media and arm chair pundits to be running their mouths. Let this typing lady live! If she can do the work, let her!!!
I dream of the time when one day that ABLP supporters like @ Chupes and Rovi can respond to what I’ve actually written instead of mindless and unwarranted soundbites.
The lack of scholarly debates on here makes me want to retire. Sheeeesh!!!
YES! Rawdon too nuff and edge up! Chaniel, it’s your time now!
@Independent Voter…I don’t do politics but Chaneil and her team are ADVOCATES for Mental Healrh Swareness. Nobody has ever claimed to be a professional. You are finding issues where none exist.
Chupz man!!
These jump shippers have the morals of an alley cat. Sometimes to listen to how some of them Kiss the PM u know what, I’m surprised their lips are not stuck to his behind.
CHUPD, Mek dem Gwarn tek Antiguans for papyshow. I can’t believe someone wrote this
Melford did not come to labour without qualifications like the recent turn coats. You can’t tell me they haven’t benefitted from the fruits of labour
The constituency is a labour party stronghold even an animal dressed in red will win you people only see colour never comon sense
I can’t even get to the issue because the wig and lipstick is atrocious. Did she get the wig from the dollar store?
Now I know you Brix are really and truly pathetic. Why is it as someone who does not agree with your narrative they are automatically an ABLP accolyde. People aren’t free to have their own opinions without being aligned to a political party. Your comment is untrue and very misleading and its easy for folks who are very gullible to take this misinformation and run with it as the gospel truth. But then again I can expect no better from you as it seems to be your day job to be leaving comments on this news thread
Them politicians Find ASOT was being a Challenge for them in the ABLP. Them done say as long as Them A lead ABLP Asot had no chance of running on their Ticket.Asot nar hear but a Nuff up he self in Ebre thing ABLP organised. He pappyshow heself on the opening of the International Fowl pen in Barbuda waving he Flag..This smells Danger to ABLP. YOU know what ? I am convinced (my opinion)ASOT death is politically orchestrated to get him out the way so ABLP can have a candidate to give them a stronger Hold of Governance of 🇦🇬 Antigua/ Barbuda. Parham people open your eyes ABLP took out your Moses.
@ Chupes, its all about opinions.
You have yours, and I thoroughly enjoy mine. However, can you respond to my original thread?
No? I thought not boss!
Keep following your king of misinformation. Gaston Browne. He makes policy, Brixtonian informs the facts … 😉
With people like you Antigua will never challenge the establishment and stay forever ignorant.
The only ignorant one here is you Brix. I suggest you go outside and touch some grass because you seems to be spending to much time on ABLP and Gaston Browne newsroom threads. I have already responded to your misinformed comments seen as ABLP nor UPP have not up to now announced anything about a candidate. Someone wrote an opition piece and here you go with your ABLP is the most evil thing agenda. And you are really and truly a pathetic human being. Do us all a favor log off the internet and GO TOUCH SOME GRASS!!!
When these people were in UPP they look like they were eating crackers and water, not Gaston have them an eat steak…think Labourites forget. They are eating from the bowels of labour while true Labourites starve

What a joke
IM Who? She is an opportunist who has moved from political party to political party to political party. She is as transparent as a pane of glass but she THINKS she is smart. Ask her husband and abandoned children how good she is.
You know in your heart Chupsy, that Antigua & Barbuda needs better leadership, but you can’t admit that because you enjoy wallowing in second rate practices here. Why Chupsy why?
When you travel around town and many parts of the country, are you happy at the underdevelopment, despite the amount of money this country makes from CIP, tourism and the hardworking tax payers?
Respond to dat Chupsy! Didn’t think so.
BTW, I love writing on ANR threads … just like yourself 👍🏾
… and I won’t rest until the country gets the leadership and transparency it deserves.
Respond to dat without your inane soundbites.
@Brixtonian
I think you’ve sunken to the gutter is disrespect. The article suggested that the ABLP should consider her as a viable candidate.
The PM is attending COP 29 in Azerbaijan. I’m quite he’s unaware of this article.
You don’t care about Asot in any way. But for the way you behave. What does his demise have to do with the price of milk?
The seat has no representative at this time. You can offer up someone who you think would make a great contender.
Sometimes, I don’t understand your argument. The PM is taking up too much space in your head, while he’s having a blast. Shame on YOU!!!!
Out of respect for the late MP, let’s stop the politicking and campaigning until he is interred.
Brix this is my last response to you because you are chose to be ignorant and continuously moving the goal post with your ignorance. This particular letter was the opinion of some and here you are trying desperately to spin the narrative to make it seems like ABLP is disrespecting the late MP Asot Michael. Myself and another commentor called you out on you bs and you are jumping high and low trying to be insulting as completely trying to change the subject. You really are pathetic and you need to stop wtiting on Antigua Newsroom and go out side and TOUCH SOME GRASS!!!!
There are 3 political parties in Antigua and this woman who is married and a mother of three has been a member of all three.
As a member of UPP, she was indulged and spoilt rotten by the leadership. She wanted to run in St Peter but did not want to submit to a primary. She lost the primary and left in a spoilt brat huff, joined DNA, acted the same way and as expected, left in a bigger huff, maybe because there were no men there who wanted to light her lamp.
Luckily she can’t pull all that shit with our leader and has to behave herself. It is true that she is talented and has promise. However, she seems to have some mental instability which showed up when she was in the UPP.
Can she be useful in a political organization? Yes. Should she run as a potential candidate?
NO.
… And here’s my last response to you also Chupsy.
The ABLP without a shadow of a doubt could – and should have – held out until after the funeral of Asot Michael out of respect.
Why promote this by-election ABLP candidate now?
Crass to the extreme. So while people like you shoot messengers like me simply because it deflects from the terrible realism of your own weak party political stance. Simple!
If you can’t stand the heat, keep out of the “political” kitchen, because its going to get even HOTTER 🔥 …
Gaston play chess NOT checkers Chaniel isn’t a winner anywhere
I WOULD VOTE FOR A MANGEE DAWG B4 HER
