  1. I hope y’all sending your own people to school to learn how to maintain these vehicles and Antigua very hot to have those type of vehicles they are a great hazard in causing fire 🔥and 100x more expensive to maintain.. wah happen no logical person in government anymore? Leave your options open.

  2. People bought shares in west indies oil, now they want to move to electric vehicles.i don’t know much about electric vehicles but in my opinion the petrol will outlast the electric, we need not rush into electric vehicles and infrastructure is not in place it would be a waste of time

    • Electricity was off for several hours this afternoon that is not ok but it is normal.

Where will the energy come from to recharge the electric vehicles?

Looks Luke Hadeed is set to have a windfall since he will be required to SELL apua more Electricity.

Just shifting the wealth from WIOC to Haded.

  3. Welcome to the SIDS eye washes about sustainability

Sustainably which the Government claims to be it’s objective is not only achieved in the reduction of continuous use of fossil fuels in its vehicles.
Sustainability is achieved by educating the public, and changing the culture where consumption is regarded as a badge of achievement.

A 20 room concrete bunker as a home, that has to be cooled with fossil fuel driven AC system is an anathema to sustainability

Sustainability is achieved in a country where power outages are common charging stations may have to generate their own power.

Every EV is not $40,000 Ford truck or Tesla etc. There are EV vehicles manufactured in Latin America that’s the price of a Vitz, which have gotten very good reviews.

These LATAM manufactured EVs in fact are more suitable for Antigua and Barbuda roads than current autos and the way in which vehicles are utilized in Antigua and Barbuda.

It always of interests to read about the next “ill conceived hair brain thoughts” that are reported from “The Happy Band of Clowning Kleptomaniacs”

Rather than educate the public, starting with infants and take action at the level of the school lunch program.
I await the legislation that will be introduced to address the consumption of sugary, sweetened beverages; “The Happy Band of Clowning Kleptomaniacs”
I guarantee this will be as controversial as any other piece of legislation.

    • @Winston Southwell – where is the extra generating capacity coming from?

Also as I mention, this climate sham has been going on for over 100 years, it started in 1920 (if I recall correctly) with a New York Times article that stated the arctic ice pack was melting at 1/4 mile per day, the seas were so hot that seals and all other marine life that didn’t move from those waters were simply dying etc.

This sham must end for the sake of humanity.

  5. Couple questions I have, first, I thought Antiguans as a group were relatively poor so I’m curious how you folks are going to afford $60,000 US for a vehicle.

Second, where is all this electricity going to come from? Your rulers are going to pull it out their asses?

Enviro marxism has been going on for over 100 years, time to dump it on history’s dung heap.

  6. This is an important step to improving our survival rate. As humans we will have to leave the carbon in the ground and get our energy from harnessing the wind and sun. The earth will still be here but the way we humans are configured we will definitely not be here. Collectively we have to change to more sustainable ways to survive. We have got to pay attention and encourage the powers that are to charge too.

  7. I really don’t have the bandwidth to argue whether Climate Change is a sham.
A new generation of AI is here which will tell us more about this subject.

What I believe is a sham is what the government is proposing.
This is a Government that made solar panels illegal not to long ago
The only reason for this announcement is SIDS conference next year. Connect the dots

  8. @ Winston Southwell – AI is biased by the prejudices of the programmers.

Think of it this way, what is a representative data sample of a planet that is nearly 6 billion years old? Is a thousand years representative?

How old a man are you and do you recall all the fuckery of the climate crises of the50s 60s and 70s?

Let’s think this shit through before we relegate ourselves back to the stone age.

    • @Caustic Bastard…as a kid, I recall even Jean Dixon the psychic was predicting, that the islands would sink, in a couple of years or something to the effect.
What role is H.A.A.R.P., etc playing in this?

      • @Ras Smood – well, Russia detonated the largest thermonuclear device (Tsar Bomba) that created the largest manmade explosion in human history and that from my research didn’t effect global weather. Also consider that the Sun during periods of high activity puts off enough ionizing and electromagnetic radiation to shut down (and theoretically destroy) power grids on a global scale. I personally don’t think that what the us “government” is doing has much effect on global weather, especially considering these other events.

  9. @Winston Southwell – further I believe that you do have the “bandwidth” but what you seem to lack is the objectivity to thoroughly study both side of the issue.
