Jamaica’s leading automotive company ATL Automotive has signed an agreement with world leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles BYD (Build Your Dreams) this week after being named Regional Master Dealers for in Jamaica and 9 countries throughout the Caribbean.
The regional appointment followed an 18-month tender process and will see ATL Automotive taking direct control of the sales and aftersales of BYD in Jamaica and playing a regional management role in an additional eight other countries: Trinidad and Tobago, Cayman, Curacao, Barbados, Aruba, Antigua, Saint Lucia, Guyana and Suriname.
Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman commented, “We are absolutely delighted to finally announce this news. Our discussions with BYD have been ongoing for the better part of a year and a half so naturally we are thrilled to finally sign on the dotted line.

BYD Jamaica and BYD Trinidad will be heralded with the construction of world-class, state-of-the-art sales and service facilities in each country’s capital and second cities including a stunning ‘Experience Centre’ created within the AC Hotel in Kingston.
Similarly, to its master dealer status with BMW and MINI that began in 2015, ATL Automotive Group
will also serve as a central hub to include the distribution of BYD cars and parts, service support, regional marketing initiatives as well as the central training ground for all of its carefully selected dealer partners.
“Aside from our hands on role in Jamaica, we’ll be creating a comprehensive dealer network, comprising some of the best automotive dealers in the Caribbean, and supporting them with a complete range of services including regional sales and aftersales support, creative marketing or comprehensive training programs, our mandate is to launch and drive BYD throughout the region.

BYD has rapidly become one of the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturers, with a range of models that includes passenger cars, buses, and trucks.
In addition to electric vehicles, BYD also produces energy storage systems and solar panels, which are used in residential, commercial, and utility-scale applications.
The company has gained global recognition for its advanced battery technology, which is used not only in its own electric vehicles but also in other applications such as energy storage systems and portable electronic devices.
BYD has also received numerous awards for its commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.
