A post-mortem has been conducted on the body of an American woman who was murdered in Montego Bay, St. James two weeks ago.

It revealed that 68-year-old Heidi Ann Muth died from multiple stab wounds to the upper body. The body has been released to Muth’s family.

It was reported on Friday that U.S. agents have joined local police in the hunt for lottery scammers who have been linked to Muth’s murder.

The body of the retired school teacher from California was found with stab wounds on a dirt track in Ironshore on September 10.

Muth was murdered two days after she arrived in the island. A senior police investigator said that the American was lured to Jamaica by lottery scammers in Montego Bay. It is understood that she wired money to Jamaica last year after being told by the scammers that she had won the lottery. (Caribbean News Service)
