Island-Wide Power Outage Linked to Fault Near Cassada Substation

The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) says crews are working to restore electricity following an island-wide outage caused by a fault on the Cassada #2 Feeder near a substation.

According to APUA’s Electricity Business Unit, the fault triggered a brief collapse of the system, resulting in widespread power disruptions across the island.

The utility company said restoration efforts are actively underway and that service is expected to be fully restored within approximately one and a half to two hours.

APUA apologized for the inconvenience and thanked customers for their patience and understanding while crews work to safely return the system to normal operations.
