Hon. Jamale Pringle Advises Caution Amid Severe Weather Conditions in Antigua and Barbuda

Hon. Jamale Pringle, the Leader of the Opposition and Parliamentary Representative for All Saints East and St. Luke, has issued a warning to the citizens and residents of Antigua and Barbuda due to ongoing severe weather conditions.

The country has been grappling with heavy rainfall over the past twenty-four hours, leading to flash flooding and significant water-logging across various areas.

The adverse weather has also resulted in excessive debris that has obstructed several waterways, posing additional risks to the community. Weather officials have indicated that this pattern of heavy rains and potential flooding is expected to persist into the upcoming week.

In light of these conditions, Hon. Pringle has urged the public to exercise extreme caution. He specifically called on drivers to be particularly vigilant while navigating the roads to avoid accidents and further complications.

“Let us remain our brothers’ and sisters’ keeper and continue to be safe while on the outside,” Pringle stated, emphasizing the importance of community support and safety during these challenging times.

  1. Let all the promoters know that out of an abundance of caution you are not renting any equipment this weekend.

  2. Hmmm…two words…snorkel exhaust.

Business will be booming for local mechanics once again with all these hydrolocked cars. If the trades were mandatory and motorist knew how an internal combustion engine works, I doubt they would have even chanced driving through flood waters which reached their windows.

  3. With all of this rain this past week. Three days a Flash Flood Warning have been issued. What is the present condition on the water catchments ( dams, ponds and the likes) that supply our potable water. All that rain and no where to catch and store it for citizens use is totally rediculous.
