The Central Board of Health in Antigua and Barbuda has received a new backhoe, courtesy of the government.
The equipment, handed over to Mrs. Ena Dalso-Henry, the Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Health and the Environment, will enhance burial site preparation at the Public Cemetery and Valley Road Cemetery.
The acquisition was welcomed by officials, including Acting Chief Health Inspector, David Matthery, and Senior Public Health Inspector, Julienne Mannix, who expressed gratitude for the improved capabilities it will bring.
This development reflects the government’s commitment to supporting public health services and facilities.

Who ho, yes!
Thank you so much government.
Trupz!!
Isn’t the CBH a government function? How can they receive a donation from the same government? Is this just a publicity stunt?
News Flash!
Really????
Is this Transparency?
Indian made junk backhoe
Actually I drive one and so far it work very good and reliable.
This government is a joke. Something as nessasery as a backhoe to dig graves has to have a photo to show they now have one.
Last year when we went to the cemetery to bury a relative we almost passed out because of the heat, no shade, waiting for the grave digger to prepare the grave site. They were late coming out to Valley Church because their truck broke down coming from town. The men looked like they might drop dead digging with shovels. It was sad and painful for all.
Hopefully they have a new truck as well.
Congrats on the new backhoe. I’m sure those hard working men appreciate it.
So…..
The persons from the CBH have been lobbying for a backhoe for some time now, and now the equipment has shown up. The “donator” then decided to publicize the hand over for…..????
it must still be too early in th week, for I’m not following the logic here one bit
So the backhoe can only dig one grave a day at one location. This is not something to celebrate for a government 3rd term. Antiguans let’s not pretend this is acceptable.
Is this really a story? The Central Board of Health is a Government run Agency in the Ministry of Health. So the Government in essence gave a Back Hoe to itself and it is NEWS.REALLY?
Maybe if our politicians would spend less of our money on traveling the world pretending to bring knowledge back to improve our island they might afford another backhoe.
