Prime Minister Gaston Browne said that a 33-year-old man was among five COVID-19 patients in critical condition at the hospital.

The Prime Minister made the revelation on Saturday during his week radio programme on Point Fm.

He said this demonstrated that COVID-19 “does not respect anyone, doesn’t matter your age.”

“The reality is COVID is a serious disease, and we ought to take it seriously,” he said.

The COVID-19 dashboard published by the Ministry of Health on Saturday showed a total of 726 laboratory-confirmed cases, with 421 active and 42 in hospital.

“I actually got an update this afternoon, and I’m told that they are actually 43 hospitalizations, five of whom are critical,” the Prime Minister revealed.

“They remain in the ICU, that’s the Intensive Care Unit, and I’m told that three of them are fighting pretty hard and expected to make a recovery, and they are hoping, too, that all five will make a recovery, so we continue to pray for their full recovery,” he said.
