Drugs enter Montserrat via Antigua

Update: An earlier version of this article described the smuggled drug as cocaine. Sources have since revealed that the drug was in fact marijuana.

Montserrat police are currently investigated the case of four men who smuggled marijuana into the Emerald Isle traveling from Antigua’s VC Bird International Airport on Sunday.

The four, said to be Jamaican nationals, ingested a number of marijuana pallets in order to conceal the drugs.

Acting on intelligence the police apprehended the drug mules at the John A Osborne airport in Montserrat. It is reported that a fifth man, a Jamaican who lives in Montserrat, was also apprehended by police.

The four men are currently warded at the Glendon Hospital under police watch.

  6. Every island has its own issues but I promise you drugs was not one of them for Montserrat. It’s so sad to see how this island has been invaded by others and the current residents there so disrespected. They need to flush their a…s off the island. It’s such a disgrace
