Progress Made in UWI Five Islands Campus Expansion Funded by Saudi Arabia
The University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus expansion, funded by Saudi Arabia with US$80 million, is moving forward as design consultants have been selected.
Local companies did not bid for the project, resulting in the selection of an international firm.
The expansion plan includes dormitories, administration blocks, lecture theatres, and a sports complex meeting international standards.
Additionally, a new primary school will be constructed, with demolition of the existing school expected to pave the way for the expansion.
Construction of the primary school is anticipated to begin in the second half of this year.
