Department Of Environment To Investigate Reports Of Pollution In Deep Water Harbour/Dredge Bay Area

1

The Department of Environment (DOE) has received reports of pollution in the Deep Water Harbour/Dredge Bay area, along with several photos of satellite imagery of the area showing the discoloration in coastal waters which indicate pollution.

The DOE has been tracking the pollution in this bay for several years but paused its monitoring program due to the work being conducted at the Port. On receiving the report of this new incident, the DOE immediately launched an investigation into this matter.

Upon conclusion of the investigation the DOE will release a summary of its findings and use all available channels to mitigate any possible damage done.

The DOE would like to thank individuals who send in reports of environmental damage. If you, or anyone else would like to make a report or send in an environmentally related complaint, please do so by visiting the following link – https://www.environment.gov.ag/contact.
